good buying opportunity if you were waiting..

I'd wait until 13k before loading back up

I didn’t do too great on first but with 15k+ however, just found the dip to hard to resist hedging my earlier purchase. If it keeps dipping I will ladder all the way down.

Bottomed close to 13k and looks to be climbing again.
Wonder if the introduction of future trading will have a positive or negative impact.
We'll find out soon enough.

Its interesting that all the top cryptos seem to be falling. Usually a drop in one means the others go up due to the flow from one to the other.
Im looking at coinmarketcap and Im seeing that pretty much ALL the cryptos are in the red at the moment.

I don't think coinmarketcap tracks USDT transactions or every country's exchange has their local tethered currency coin that coinmarketcap doesn't track(not likely). Because if the numbers are right, it means people are actually withdrawing their money from the exchanges when the bitcoin price goes down. But they're not doing that because money returns to the market cap, and most of that is from existing users. I just don't understand where the money goes when it leaves the market cap and then comes back in if new users aren't accounting for the recovery and increase in market cap.

13.8k at this very moment - what a drop.

Re: Woah BTC

Still in accumulation mode. Less than 1/2 of 1% of the world owns anything. The user growth and account creation is skyrocketing the exchanges can't keep up with it. Increasing user demand chasing after limited supplies = major growth.

I think some of the Precious Metals bugs who might own some BTC are freaked out by the futures contracts. This will pass. If you want to go leveraged on Bitcoin you better be doing coke.

I wish I knew that.
Don't know if buy now or wait to see the futures impact.
Above 14k once again.

This in essence is the first step - and a major one - for mainstream acceptance by financial institutions. It will allow pretty much all investors to have access to Bitcoin.
Theres a LOT of money waiting to come into the market in the next 3 weeks so watch out for a lot more action before the end of the year.

The other just as important fact is that financial institutions can also begin to SHORT bit coin as well, which could also destroy bit coins price. Keep in mind the VAST majority of financial analysts have either a negative or avoid view of bitcoin.

Alternative coins might be a smart play here

happy to see that adding to my position on the dip worked out well. I guess my experience on market helped a bit.

I’m watching football in my fantasy playoffs, watching crypto currency and waiting on my legal cannabis delivery on Sunday. It’s a pretty good day. Lol

Bitcoin on the rise again. $16.4k and climbing.
Guessing that the launch of the CBOE futures trading - and the subsequent immediate crash of the website within minutes of it being launched due to heavy traffic might have something to do with that:

Bitcoin is doing well this morning after the CBOE started trading. I officially jumped into this madness by purchasing Litecoin last week, so far its looking like a good play, it is performing better than bitcoin so far today. Lets see what happens

Fox Business News reported this morning that the FCC or some other Gov Bull Sh1t agency warned that Bitcoin whales are pulling out of Bitcoin to leave the new investors holding the bags.

Funny thing is I don't see any big red candles on the chart and the price of BTC keeps slowly going up....

Sounds like FOMO to me....

There's also reports yesterday that Gold is down 2% for the first time as yields on bonds decreased. An event that is extremely rare. Could investors dump gold for BTC? Wouldn't that piss some people off....

@newjerseymax I know your having fun. You made some good choices last week spreading out your investment the way you did. I'm down $100+ on my ETH/BTC trade. Not worried though... Not even a little bit.

You must mean panic selling.... You may be right... But it will only be so big players can buy BTC at a discount and push out the weak...

I feel like that's whats happening... lots of *phake* news portraying BTC to be bad, so the big players can buy dirt cheap.

I suggest to HODL BTC (Hold On for Dear Life)... Unless you trade it with ETH. At least that way you wont totally lose out. The value of Fiat isn't going up any time soon. BTC & ETH value going up... you can almost bet you life on at this point...

BTC you HODL 100%. BTC is like Gold, ETH is more like Oil in the Crypto economy. I own some ETH I bought at $10 when Coinbase first listed it but there are lots of bugs in the coding the are disturbing to me.

I have a little bit of Monero and Dash and a few others in the top 25 mostly. But BTC is daddy. All these people out there trading Alts aren't hoarding them. Most of them are trying to get more BTC. Just get a cold storage device or a paper wallet if that is your thing and check back in 2-3 years when you have 4x the number of people chasing after a limited number of coins.

Also the Bitcoin Whales aren't selling, they spent the past 5 years going out and education people about it. The weak hands sold everything in 2014 to early 2016.

duffrageous 12-18-2017 11:23 AM

Re: Woah BTC

All the alt holders are the ones getting rich. The alt traders are the ones making 10% or more per trade and hopefully accumulating more or less the same if they just held a few alts. Plot all the alt growth in the last 6 months in the top 100 on coinmarketcap(don't do 1 year because there was a 10-50x spike for everything between February and June) versus bitcoin(remember bitcoin went up 5-10x during that time too), so you have to see if it was better to hold bitcoin or the top 100 alts. Also, the beauty of the human condition is very few people like to hold and wait a few weeks or months. Everyone likes to buy what's hot, so trading actually supports the rise of the alts. If no one traded, alts would still be worth what they were in the beginning of the year. Same thing goes for the miners that continually switch among the alts.

Blame the Wallet Providers for not adopting Segwit Wallets. Its a complete Joke. Things like Lightening Network are just about ready to go and Rootstock has been working hard. Its kinda comical that the Crypto space every day is like a year and people throw a pc of grass in the air and rush to whatever way the wind is blowing. Its almost sad how much is going to be lost in scam ICO's, scam Coins, pumps and fraudulent "lending platforms". I actually think LTC will lead BTC in % gains in the future because Charlie Lee will be able to prove just like with Segwit, anything with the Core team and the other important upgrades like Lightening and Rootstock can take this space on LTC before BTC.

Fortunes are going to be made and lost here in the coming years. Buckle Up.

Here in Australia, one of our exchanges stopped AUD transfers.

The stated reason was pressure from the Banks. Later in the day, they reopened exchanges for amounts up to AUD$1000.

Bunch of w*nkers. Current thought is the banks are worrying about money laundering.

Bunch of the above.
