Could be. Or it could also mean the crypto market is working independent of the stock market. Either way awesome!, at least you know stock market crashes wont affect crypto (hopefully).

Re: Woah BTC

these cryptoexchange hacks are somewhat hilarious.

If i ran one what if i intentionally created a system with a vulnerability and get a team of hackers steal the coins then as the company ceo just feign ignorance and file for bankruptcy and share the proceeds secretly.....

mafia has a front man set up the company and takes the fall for ignorance and files chapter 11 bankruptcy.....while the team walks away....ceo shares his part of it takes straight cash untraceable......sounds perfect to me.

the police come in start "investigating" they have no idea so they eventually close the case.......organized clearnet exit scamming :spy:

Re: Woah BTC

think about it police will come in and start investigating the people inside but as long as you use burners and encrypted communication the police they got nothing on you and sense you can literally have an anonymous wallet with millions stashed away in a private encrypted email with private keys, police can never find the money.

police would have to prove that the CEO was complicit and thats hard to prove if i was a CEO what if i hire incompetent IT professionals that create security backdoors/loopholes that can unload coins to hackers on purpose......

I doubt the police would arrest IT workers that did a poor job creating a proper security system to keep out hackers. LOL

its hard to try to get away with something like that now since so many have been hacked and it causes many to now distrust cryptoexchanges.......and cryptoexchanges are somewhat becoming a dime a dozen at this point.

I think that cryptos are struggling to prove their viability in the mainstream markets, and not just a method of moving money from one person to another in an untraceable manor facilitating many illicit transactions. The notification technology cryptic are built on however have a big, bright future however

cryptocurrency will be around for atleast 10 years until they find a suitable replacement for it........drug cartels need to find a safe way to launder their money across borders without custom border protection

That will inevitably happen. Unlikely anytime soon, but eventually, without a shadow of a doubt, it will happen.

It's just the way life works. Something bigger and better comes to disrupt existing technologies, to make way for something more useful.

Given Bitcoins shortfalls, if they go unresolved, something will takes it place.

BUT overall, the cryptospace is here to stay.. that I can say with certainty.

am slowly moving all my money out in cash form to move into us tether....i dont want any of my money in the bank anymore......just because i dont want anybody staring at my assets.....or being able to freeze it for any reason

want to be able to have full control of my money without any type of government control.

And youre not concerned about Tether falling apart? Been hearing a lot of thing that keep me from using that Cryptocoin as a safe haven for my funds.

as far as im concerned if bitcoin was able to survive all these years tether will also be able to survive as well. Especially since its being used on a lot of major crypto exchanges like binance, and bitfinex.

What i am more afraid of if anything is if US federal regulators conjure up some type of idea to integrate within the law to have power to be able to fully control all of your assets through cryptocurrency.....i think someday it could happen.....its a long ways away though...

I am not exactly comfortable with keeping a safe in my house with cold hard cash....

How about a cold storage wallet? Something off the grid.

H4ck 03-08-2018 06:22 PM

Re: Woah BTC

yeah i have a cold storage wallet,

All I need is a US tether cold storage wallet...that is on a separate phone locked away in storage with a combination lock and put my private keys on a cloud storage email account that I know by memory......

just in case the feds want to get cute with me and take away my laptop...:d

slokor 03-08-2018 06:36 PM

Re: Woah BTC

I actually keep my private keys in 2 halves on 2 separate email addresses in 2 instances (i.e. 4 emails in total with each pair holding the same half of the info) - just in case an email of mine gets hacked. Call me paranoid but I prefer safe than sorry.

Reading these last few posts, I feel like I am trying to interpret science fiction. No idea how cold storage and online keys work but cool such things exist. :)

Re: Woah BTC

am mostly concerned about putting my private keys on am email address that either the email provider has really crazy heightened security where you cant just login from anywhere...even when you have all the right answers to login to your email address or the email provider does not exist 20 years from now.....

slokor 03-08-2018 08:07 PM

That's why I put the info on 2 sets of 2 emails.

I'm getting out of mining coins. Over the past few months the overall daily profit is slowly shrinking even when I switched over to mining zcash. Daily profit went from $230-240 to $110, even with 13 mining machines.
Plus the next gen graphics cards for Nvidia are coming out within 3 months so I need to sell everything now. I made my money back and the value of my cards have more than doubled for what I paid for them. Anyone want to buy about 100+ graphics cards.
