:cheer:

Seems you share my experience . . .

Here in north Wales car boot sales seem to be as popular as chickens teeth.

I get the impression car boot sales have had their day . . .

How easy is it to find Jaffa Cakes in the US?

MM78 06-10-2012 08:48 PM

You can't buy Jaffa Cakes in the US, we gotta import them from UK.

moneyhustler88 06-10-2012 08:57 PM

wow i didnt know that marysman that sucks

newjerseymax 06-10-2012 10:06 PM

It seems like everything I just read was my language, but have no clue what was said...:noidea:

MM78 06-10-2012 11:23 PM

@MoneyHustler, GTB is suppose to start slanging them to us Americans and Canadians.

@Newjerseymax, Yeah it's English alright but it takes time to master the art of British Slang. I've watched countless hours of BBC America and a few shows just to catch a few, after several hours my eye started twitching from having no clue!

I do love Gordon Ramsey F-Word, it's a more realistic view of the dude.

No bargains at the carboots this weekend. The great british weather has seen to that

johnnyleeds 06-18-2012 12:08 PM

I do the same as you ClapClap, I've bought - and sometimes sold at car boot sales all over Yorkshire since the early 90's. There are some great car boot sales around Leeds and on a Sunday I've managed to get round 7 different boot sales ( thats my record anyway!). If you know what to look out for there is some great money to be made for selling not a lot of items. I can regularly spend £30 and turn that into £300. Get in touch with me and hopefully we can discuss doing some trade. You've probably seen me selling before at York on a Saturday.

Used to do carbooting when I was a lad. Ah the memories....waking up at 6am going to a muddy field, the smell of bacon in the air.

I remember the first time I sold, was trying to park the car and the vultures descended upon my brother's Ford Capri, sold have the stock before we even got out of the car.

The favourite was early on to get my brother to look after the stall, I would then go around and buy all the bargains. I would then sell them on my stall for a cheeky profit :heh:
