Default Tactics to remove neg ebay feedback

HI

I have a close competitor on ebay who seem to be very good at removing feedback from ebay, neg feedback that is.

He had received 3 neg feedback this week, and within a week, all of them are removed.

I am aware I can send feedback revise request. But beside this, what have you guys tried. I know the best bet is probably to make up some good stories for ebay for them to remove it.

I had tried making up email history saying buyer emailed outside ebayer and said he want to change the order.. It had worked a few times to be honest.. But ebay had now said to me that they have no control of customer emailing outside ebay...

What have you tried and worked?

The biggest thing you have to be aware of is that is a buyer states something to the seller in a message about leaving negative feedback in any way that that is considered feedback extortion. Aside from that, I do not know how he would be having feedback removed.

Got my first negative last week from inpatient customer.
All it took was offering a refund and he changed FB to "Awesome"

The way I've gotten rid of most of mine, was getting the cases closed in my favor.

So, WHY are you getting negs?

Typically i dont get a lot of negative feedback, and its not very often i get a negative feedback without first hearing from the customer.

I will usually contact the buyer and offer to refund the purchase for the removal of the feedback. Most of the times it works....I did refund a customer this christmas and then he emailed me saying "enjoy the negative feedback - Merry christmas!" Literally after i refunded him so it dont work all the time!

I sure hope you called ebay about that last one.

And I also hope your items are cheap, because feedback really isn't that big of a deal anymore. And if the item is cheap, I'd also assume you have a lot of feedback to counter any bad ones.

Send feedback revision requests offering a full or partial refund if they agree to revise their feedback. This technically isnt allowed, but I haven't gotten in trouble for it and it gets rid of half of my negative feedbacks.

If they threaten me with negative feedback it is easy to get removed. If they say an item did not arrive when tracking shows it arrived, or if they say they were never refunded when they really were refunded, then it gets removed easily.

If they make unfair or malicious comments I have been able to get eBay to remove just the comment the buyer made with their feedback, but the negative feedback stays there.

A lot of the time it isn't worth my time and I just let the negative feedback stick. I will get plenty of positives that push the negative down.

What about a neg stating "Went to authentic shop and they confirmed item ⊗⊗⊗⊗" ?

I don't bother any more, unless there's a pattern of long term large scale of buyers crying 'problem' with a seller I don't care what fb says.

The easiest way to "remove" bad FB is suck it up to the customer; apologize, and offer something to them to make them feel valued. You can then send them a revision request and hope they follow through.

I've had buyers who were clearly in the wrong, but sometimes a nice phone call can work wonders. In 4 out of 5 cases I was able to get them to change their review that way.

Not quite true.

You can submit 5 Feedback revision requests for every 1,000 Feedback comments you've received in the past 12 consecutive months. High-volume sellers (who earn more than 1,000 Feedback comments a year) can send more requests.

We've been selling on eBay for over a decade now, and we rarely have had to use up the feedback revision requests. If you find yourself using up the allowance each year, you need to go back to the drawing board as something is clearly causing your customers grievance.

Thank you for clarifying!

Best way to remove negative feedback? Just contact buyer and say that you'll send him full refund if he changes the feedback to positive. Always works, people ****ing love free stuff.

The question is, is it actually worth the price? If it's a $5 item, sure. But what's your personal limit? How much are you willing to refund, to erase a feedback?

Depends on a customer to be honest- Most users are actually happy with 50-70% refund and a polite message where you accept that you are at fault, even claiming that world hunger is down to you being wrong etc.
I find that chasing some kind of right and moral victory in internet is just a waste of time. In real life, I would never surrender and admit defeat in these situations, but when it comes to eBay and online selling its easier just to turn over and admit defeat- Once you get your pride out of the way, business becomes a lot easier.

Less Stress = More time to be productive.
More time = More money
More money = Mo problems

I have sometimes even refunded £100 items, not even having a negative feedback, but to avoid it.
I have to admit, I don't have many problems, because I think I'm pretty good at what I do. Still every now and again I get a retarded anteater who clearly has problems in his personal life and I'm just there at the wrong time.
I'm pretty good at spotting a problem, so I usually go straight to apologetic route and navigate the waters with ease- A refund usually stops everything.

I don't make THAT much, so its not that I DON'T care about it- I just look at it as "cost of doing business" and get on with my life.

that's more than I was expecting. I don't know if I'd be willing to give up that much money... But I guess I take it too personally, and there are far too many " retarded anteaters" out there.

So, this morning, a buyer left me a negative feedback. I sent him a message saying that it wasn't fair. He told me that if I refund him, he'd remove the feedback. I called ebay, and showed them this conversation, and they removed the feedback.
