Ebay Buyer Opened Case Doubt

A buyer opened a case of non receiving the item.
I already updated the tracking number, however when I try to follow the parcel, nothing shows up on track trace.
I believe the buyer will receive soon probably, however, he already can click on "ask us to step in".
As I already updated the tracking details, if the buyer asks for ebay to step in, will this case count towards my account defects? My account is now top rated and will be below standard if does.

If they escalated, then yes it will count against you. I'm actually on the phone with ebay now trying to get the defect removed.

It hurts me a lot to give some considerable value refund, when the parcel it's tracked and when I know it will arrive.
However I refunded..

Yes, not found.

Did you check your tracking through the USPS directly? EB tracking stinks and is often wrong.
