Hey -
So i offer free shipping on all my items, most of my items i make about 10 bucks each. So i mail first class. My post office is terrible about scanning, and last year I was asked to use bulk drop off ( i mail about 50 packs a day )
usually 1 or 2 a week go unscanned, this go around so far I have had about 8 people ask where their items are , they were all dropped off at different days.
im hoping they will arrive.
how would i handle this? Couple of the customers are being a bitch over 8.00 items, is there like a limit on too many negative feedbacks in a month you get banned? if they are "lost" could i use the cancel order since the customer asked me to?
if i refund directly from paypal would that show ebay as a return as well?
sorry, this is the first time im nervous. ive complained many times to post office and fill out many complaints online. they truly dont care.
only once last year i had to pay a claim, it was on like 7.00 item, and like 6 weeks later it was returned to me
thanks, just trying to plan ahead on if they are missing

If you want to be ultra safe then what you can do is just refund the customers for the $8 items. Its always best to try to avoid getting the negative feedback if you can and usually that does the trick
I would then go to the post office and claim for the cost of the items that have gone missing

thanks, just trying to plan ahead on if they are missing | FYI, if a package is lost and shows no scanning and someone opens up a case, ebay will close it very quickly in their favor. no 3 business days for you. If you think negative feedbacks are bad, try 2 or 3 cases closed without seller resolution....
Also, as far as forcing you to use bulk drop off. You can tell them to go suck on an egg. It's their damn job. I'm so tired of that bull**** from them. They can, and they WILL scan every last package you put in front of them. If they are going to be such whiny bitches, then tell them to use the hand scanner instead of the computer. Won't get you a receipt, but it will get you your scan and only takes 1 second per package.
Sorry... just reeeeeeaaaaallly jaded with the post office lol Can you tell?

Put them in a blue mailbox outside the post office, don't take them in to the counter.
If a clerk handles them it's nothing but trouble.
If you put them in the box they get dumped in a bin in a mail truck and end up at the regional center where they'll be scanned.
Just an FYI - my local PO was doing this for a while and I was screaming and cussing and taking my packages 5 miles further away where they're good about scanning, refunded a number of orders... then I found a bag of misplaced packages in my house! :(

USPS is very well known for this. I generally just reply with a copy paste email to my buyers whenever they give me grief about this.
If you want to have USPS scan them for sure, the only way is to go to the front counter and they'll scan them infront of you, or you go to the back and you ask the guy working to scan them all one by one.

Take them to counter and tell them you need a scan receipt.

They'll want a scan form for multiple packages, and they'll still want to look every package over for possible problems - and trust me, they can ALWAYS find problems.

Literally years. And as far as scan forms. They can want all they want. Doesn't mean they can require it. I ship things at different times of the day. I print labels different days. From different accounts. Honestly, I don'[t even know how to do a scan form.

A tracking which has a scanned status is more than enough.
