Old Ebay account with New Paypal

Had a paypal account closed down about 6-7 years ago, the ebay account that was associated was never suspended.

If I open a new paypal account and link it to that old ebay account, would they realise and automatically suspend the paypal account again?

Ideally I dont want to have to open a new ebay account with listing restrictions etc. Any advice please?

Its one of them, you wont automatically hit a suspension but you're creating a link, its all on record and I mean, lets just say you stay under the radar as per the automatic limits all it takes is for you to have an issue where a human looks into your account, it will be on record somewhere.

Personally, I would start both fresh to avoid future issues. Some people say they never have issues, some people advise against it. Personally, I would never start to fail, I would start fresh.

Ok thanks for the quick response, in that case how long does it now take these days to go from whatever the intial limits are to 1000 items for example?

It really depends on a lot of factor. it can take a month, it can take a lot longer than that.

You just need to focus on giving good sales / service

Thanks Empirestate appreciate it. Could you kindly answer the following if possible please:

1. Does it matter what details are listed on the paypal account, or can it be a completly different person/entity to the ebay account?

2. On a separate note, can the full contact details on an old ebay account be entirely changed without causing any issues, or would it be best to just keep the ebay account as it is and only focus on linking the new paypal?

This is specifically related to a scenario where neither the paypal or ebay have previously been suspended and we would simply be taking over an old ebay account and associating a new paypal.

The Paypal info could be a totally different person. I've done it a million times. All my accounts are still alive up to date.
Don't change anything, just put the email like I've showed you and everything should be back to normal.

Difficult to guarantee this 100% - takes experimentation when you create a new account

Thanks Rsot, since youve been here for a long while, I wanted to ask your thoughts on buying one of those ready made ebay/paypal accounts with restricitons already lifted to 10K..is it worth it? or do you think its as likely to get limited as if you were to start with a fresh account and slowly scale it?
