After establishing an account with an unlimited cap which I have at the moment, when did a limit eventually get imposed, IF EVER?
Thanks! |

 | You are having too much fun on my thread. But the point is, I am getting different advice from different people, YET they do not explain HOW they know(whether it be from experience OR they WORK for eBay). Credibility is imperative when dealing with advice.
What I've gathered so far is:
that I think I have Godlike tendencies (True)
it may be a Glitch
it may be established in month or so
it may be unlimited infinitely
I will followup with an Update for those who actually do their homework and not just spew out their ass |

Thanks! | SEVERAL VERY EXPERIENCED members here have stated they have dealt with the so called "unlimited" accounts. Someone has also mentioned a specific way to find out your true limits from eBay. You're just doing more humble-bragging.
We are not impressed. Most of us are wise enough not to put our eggs in one basket, thus we have no interest in "unlimited" selling accounts in the first place. |

"Play" mentioned he has created some for clients and they still have them as unlimited, SO IT IS UNLIMITED.
Further, we are only speaking of one of my accounts. I was hoping you'd be "wise enough" to know that this is NOT my only account.... |

Re: Unlimited Selling Account 1. It's no Unlimited
2. There are limits, just not showing you
3. Eventually it will show some limits, after some sales
4. The End |

Just start listing several thousand items ranging in price of hundreds to thousands of dollars each, then tell us how "unlimited" your account is.

I love it when the newbies come crashing through the gates telling us how we're so dumb and they have some new never before heard of prophecy that makes all previous knowledge obsolete. |
Re: Unlimited Selling Account I can understand why everyone is objecting to the OPs statement, especially taking into account how egotistic he made himself look with some of his comments. Do Unlimited Accounts Exist?
Yes, unlimited accounts do exist, and they are very rare. Though *technically speaking* they are not 100% unlimited. It's similar to when phone service providers say, you get unlimited minutes, and unlimited data, but usually there's a catch. Same goes with eBay. How do you get them?
Usually, their allocated to corporate accounts. But there are other ways to get them too. Whats the catch?
Well technically it's not unlimited per se. See when you list an item, there is a cap on the amount of quantity and price you can sell at. When I last tested it, I think the maximum price point you can set was "£999,999", i.e. 6 figures. It may have been more, I can't recall from the top of my head. Can you actually list unlimited products at high price points?
Yes. If your account had limits, it wouldn't let you list beyond the limits. But these accounts do. Listing goes through fine, shows up fine etc. It's exactly the same as a normal account, except you don't have limits. What's the benefit of having them?
Well this is what it boils down to. There isn't actually any benefit. Example - if you do anything deemed high risk, and your account is reviewed, you will get limits allocated to your account. But even so, those limits they allocate to unlimited accounts are a lot higher (they're usually in the 6 figure region).
But more importantly, there is no such thing as unlimited limits on PayPal for the average user. So as soon as your taking in large sums of money, PayPal will review your account and decide whether they want your business or not. We all know PayPal doesn't have an appetite for risk. To summarise - unlimited accounts do exist, but with little benefit. Hope that puts this topic to rest. ;)
To put it simply - If you own them, then you know what they are. If you don't, then you don't know what they are. |

My limits don't show up and when asked. It was large sums of qty that could be listed like 5M items and the dollar value over $75M.
It's not unlimited as you state but it's really unlimited cause you'll never list that many items lol. My other one they can't even find the limits on it. |
nickopedia | 10-02-2017 05:25 AM | Re: Unlimited Selling Account I have a very old eBay account from 1999. Up until lasts year, no limits would appear in the dashboard. One day I was speaking with eBay about an un related problem, and the T&S rep mentions to me I do have limits but just cannot see them because my account was old. He said he just "ticks a box" on his side to display whatever limits I had. Within a few minutes I saw them in my dashboard.
Pretty sure some of the really old accounts look like they really have "no limits", but in fact do.
It's kinda like with American Express cards. They claim "No Preset Spending Limit" which just means to say they DO have a "soft limit" assigned, just just won't know what it is until it's reached. |
slapped | 10-03-2017 08:27 AM | Re: Unlimited Selling Account The post that I made earlier in this thread if 100% Factual,,,what im adding here is where the Info came from,,,In 2007 I participated in a Web Conference with a selected group of what at the time were known as Gold and Platinum Power Sellers, of which I was one, and representatives of Ebay.
This question came up and it was discussed. It came up because large Corporations enjoyed certain advantages that we did not, like unlimited accounts, and more importantly no intervention from Ebay or Paypal with regard's to disputes. Also they did not have to worry about DSR's.
So Please stop all this Bull$h^t about "Unlimited" Accounts, a regular everyday user will NEVER see one,,,,No Matter what that Buffoon OP says,,,he should take his "magic" touch and massage his head, it may help bring him some intelligence. |
GhostOfAmazon | 10-05-2017 04:47 AM | Re: Unlimited Selling Account At the end of the day "Unlimited" or not, doesn't matter.....
You start listing a bunch of stuff it WILL cause a manual review, and the eBay rep WILL ASSIGN HARD LIMITS then and there.
It's common knowledge that even if you create an account with limits of 1000 items per month off the bat, if you actually try and list 1000 items in the first month you're GOING to lose the account, period.
So regardless as to whether or not "unlimited" accounts exist, it's really a moot point. Unless you happen to be a major national Brick and mortar store, your account will always have some sort of limits. | All times are GMT -5. The time now is 04:08 AM. | |
