Low Item Views?
 

Anyone been experience very low views lately? I list in multiple categories and lately views have been really low. Anyone else seeing this?

My sales dropped significantly from the 9th. I thought it was just the regular blip but no. So I looked up my item in Terapeak and some small new competitor had crashed his prices.
He's just crossed the hundred mark on feedback.
He hasn't got TRS and his feedback is 95%

I decided i'm not playing peekaboo with this one.

You may need to check your competition.

I think it's going to largely depend on what you're selling and categories you are in.
I'm not seeing any slowdown in sales at the moment.

aking, have you considered using advertisements to boost up your view and possibly your sales?

900 million active listings, 360 million users, ( 180 million of which are stealth, and another 90 million of the remainder who are fed up and shop on AZ instead) you do the math. :)

I believe he means using the "sponsored" method

I haven't dabbled with this but I might for some slow moving items that I have that don't seem to be getting views as my other ones are doing just fine on the same account.

any kind of advertising whether it's on eBay itself or external.

99% of those listings belong to empirestate anyway.

But why would views matter on a new account vs established account? A view is a view and no one knows the sellers status until they have already clicked on the item, right? I guess the buyer can see the Power Seller icon or whatever, but I don't think that will necessarily deter views.

My price is already rock bottom and still not getting any views. I have an item right now that has like 4 views. :tears:

account age has a lot to do with views. New accounts dont get propped up as much. Also old accounts that dont sell much get little support from ebay.

When you search, how do you place? That will answer most of your questions.

Does it have much sales? Without views, then sales, your placement will be pretty low. Ebay typically supports successful listings.

Very good idea.

I've seen OK results with promoted listings.
He'd have to make an offer slightly higher than what's been offered by his competitor.

Another method that may yield results for less would be to write a simple squeeze page on a free sub domain, then get one of those guys on seoclerks to send genuine, geo-targeted traffic to squeeze page ----> eBay listing.

Finding sellers that do not send bot traffic can be a challenge. Going directly to ad networks usually solves that problem.

Is that right? I saw a seminar on YouTube where an eBay employee said new accounts are given priority within their search engine. I can't remember but I think he went on to explain... What I got was that this gives new accounts an opportunity to prove themselves. Hmmm.... :juggle:

Are there new players in the niche?
Has someone dropped prices?
Is there a duplicate listing that's causing it to be demoted in the search?

If you are not No. 1, find out who is and check his sales history.
Compare the last few days to the previous week(s). If it's ailing too, then it may be nothing wrong with your listing.

I always thought new accounts DO get propped up, in order to bait them into selling more? You know, before they pull the rug out from under you, after you're already financially and emotionally invested in your account.

New accounts once the item can be found do get referenced in the search results more than stale old listings but sometimes it can take a day or more to make it. So, a 5 day listing often gets little action till day 3 or 4.
