Etsy HELP! Did my IP give me away?

Okay, my account was closed over a year ago.

I just got a brand new Paypal, new bank account with a relatives name (they don't care) I switched internet providers so new IP address, new email address. I made all new stuff!! A new ME.

I went to join Etsy again. And I submitted new bank details and then they asked me for my name and address. So I put in my relatives name. And I got a warning message saying they "couldn't verify me - please contact"

Now these are the things I did not change from the last time. I am using the same laptop and the same photoshop for my photos. That's it.

I'm also a couple towns away from this relative. Do they know WHERE the IP address is in comparison to where the relative lives???

I thought this was going to work. I thought I did everything right. Should I go to the relatives house (connecting to their IP) from the other laptop and contact Etsy (as they requested) I can't move forward now without contacting them.

PLEASE HELP ME!!! I really thought I did everything good.

I don't know anything about Etsy's methods, but did you use a new user account on the laptop?

Did you use your Relatives address? what did u use for Phone Number?

There's an ETY forum, and the answer is there, I've seen it several times.

Try checking that area.

I used all of my relatives information. Banking information, address, phone number....EVERYTHING IS MY RELATIVE.

The only thing I did (which was stupid of me in hind sight, but I didn't know) was I was making the account on the laptop I used in the previous account that was suspended.

I actually thought this was the Etsy forum!! Sorry. My eyes are worse than I thought. I will repost over there.

I have looked high and low for the answer. Was it my IP? Showing that I'm a town over and therefor they couldn't "verify my identity"?

Your IP has no relation to your identity.
