| | | Hercules | 02-01-2018 10:06 PM | Re: After 15 years, eBay plans to cut off PayPal as its main payments processor Ebay owns PP, why would they kick their own a$$ on it's stock price? PP without ebay is just another processor...snore. I think ebay will rebuy stock shares over the years then fade Adyen out or to the side. PP stock will grow back on news that it's better to have around... Then sell off or cash in on those shares WITHOUT working. Now that's the ebay I've known over the years!
Or i'm totally wrong probably. |
| Hercules | 02-01-2018 10:31 PM | Re: After 15 years, eBay plans to cut off PayPal as its main payments processor Why go with Ayden when you have PP ebay? Why not change PP into a Ayden? There is something wrong with having PP around instead of a no name processor from nowhere...very odd move. |

We are all eagerly waiting to find out.
I myself am thinking itll just be handled inhouse by ebay instead of paypal. Question is at what point will they be asking for that info... |

I have accounts that go through 2-3 paypals in a year doing 60-80k in sales. So, i think basically it means once i hit 20k i'm done with that ebay for the year. If anything, account sellers in that case will get more work. We're all talking out our ass's at this juncture :P |
| Lucynda | 02-01-2018 11:45 PM | Re: After 15 years, eBay plans to cut off PayPal as its main payments processor Even if they ask for an SSN you can still give them a tax ID number instead since that's the whole purpose of an LLC is limited personal liability exposure. I'm all for telling paypal to go **** themselves. |

| ace1977 | 02-02-2018 07:09 AM | Re: After 15 years, eBay plans to cut off PayPal as its main payments processor I think the EIN is the way to go. Risking SSN on ebay....you might as well put it 3 billboards on the highway. |

| donkeykong2012 | 02-02-2018 12:20 PM | Re: After 15 years, eBay plans to cut off PayPal as its main payments processor As the dust has settled a little, I have gone back to EBay's announcement.
There is literally nothing in the communication reassuring sellers (or buyers for that matter) that our Financial Details will be secure in their hands.
Paypal make a really big deal about this. They are always promoting this fact.
This is not Amazon or Etsy we are talking about.
This is EBay.
I bet this does not go to plan. It depends on many things coming together which at this stage are dubious to say the least.
Or is there a hidden agenda here? I wonder? |
| bjammin | 02-02-2018 03:18 PM | Re: After 15 years, eBay plans to cut off PayPal as its main payments processor I feel like this is more of a move for paypal than ebay. Paypal has been working hard to expand beyond eBay. Maybe they feel they need a total separation to do this. This may have been in the stars for a while now, and they are just now implementing it. Just a thought. But Paypal has so much more to gain by separating from ebay than ebay has to gain from separating from paypal. Ebayers have been brainwashed to go through paypal all along. Re-brainwashing ebayers slowly over the next 5 years wont be difficult. That is quite a long time to adjust. |

Just need to adapt.
What’s the point in worrying, ebay loves stealth accounts, there’s probably 75% of ebay accounts that are stealth accounts. It’s just a cat and mouse game, move with the times and you just need to evolve.
F*** em all.... anything can be gotten around. Just takes a bit of thinking and patience. |

Lot of speculation here, and everyone is thinking inside the box.
Paypal is not a bank. So when you add bank details, paypal can not see the name of the bank holder.
Adyen is a bank. https://www.adyen.com/blog/adyens-banking-license
One bank can see the banking details of another bank. |
Incorrect. Adyen are not a bank, they only have a license for processing faster payments, not a full license to act as a bank.
They only have a pan European banking license.
Big difference there... |

Adyen stealth isn’t hard. Unless eBay gets some new dramatic system it’s going to be like other platforms using it and it’s not hard to get around. People just have to wait 3-4 months until it goes live. |

| nickopedia | 02-02-2018 10:00 PM | Re: After 15 years, eBay plans to cut off PayPal as its main payments processor Adyen is a type of Merchant Processor, just like any other. They will inevitably have their own KYC/AML checks, and third party verifications once limits are passed. They may require more underwriting, or info as you pass a certain payment volume. Same with PayPal, or any other Merchant Account when you start doing business with them.
At the bare minimum you can expect the standard EIN/SSN requirement for usual $20,000/200 transactions annual thresholds are met. |

It's like if you have Electile Dysfunction. Someone walking down the street next to you (paypal) doesn't know if you have Electile Dysfunction or not.
Adyen is a bank, it's like another doctor at the same doctor's office, they can pull out your charts and see you have Electile Dysfunction.
So Adyen may not necessary ask you directly for a SSN. They will be able to see if the bank is a legit bank or a VBA. And if it's a legit bank they will be able to see the name and assume since it's a legit bank the bank itself has already asked you for the SSN. And they will put your name in data base and make you verify personal information "what is your mother's name" "what is the name of your high school" etc.
Difference is paypal just assumes your name on bank is the same as paypal, they have no way to verify. Adyen may not verify directly, but they can see the name on the bank etc. |
Careful, folks. This poster @jackdanielsbtch is spreading many non-truths. Let's all be patient and listen to users like @Gladiator and others who have actually been through using stealth on Ayden's systems |

I don’t know much about Adyen. But I’m already planning and testing. I’m just reading through all there terms and signing up to the sites there process just find out what there little faults are. No processors perfect. | | All times are GMT -5. The time now is 08:03 AM. | |
