Have a few old school accounts churning through 2-3 paypal accounts a year and no issues on ebay. |
Interesting - so you attach a new "stealth" PayPal to your Ebay account and keep conducting business as usual? And Ebay didn't suspend you?
My PayPal was permanently limited and I'm waiting out the 180 days. I did notice when that happened Ebay seemed to do me a huge favor and kept my account open until I didn't pay my fees. I had many chargebacks, returns when an item went out of stock and cancelled 80 orders due to PayPal shutting me down. Ebay still kept my account open, so wonder if I could have got away with attaching a new PayPal like you?
 |

Just like PayPal. |
kirkland | 05-03-2018 12:07 PM | Re: After 15 years, eBay plans to cut off PayPal as its main payments processor Sorry if this has already been mentioned, but when is the exact date that this implementation will begin? E.g. when will the first Ayden payment be accepted |
slokor | 05-03-2018 12:48 PM | Re: After 15 years, eBay plans to cut off PayPal as its main payments processor Theyre talking about starting to roll this out later this year but full integration and implementation could take as long as 2023. |
yankee | 05-03-2018 12:52 PM | Re: After 15 years, eBay plans to cut off PayPal as its main payments processor Invitation only. I wish we had the options on new account creation but not yet anyways. |
Verificationguy | 05-03-2018 01:41 PM | Re: After 15 years, eBay plans to cut off PayPal as its main payments processor paypal is such a pain in the ass and ive heard multiple items when calling paypal that they dont like ebay....who knows this could be a blessing in disguise im not going to speculate and think the worst is coming....no one knows |
Re: After 15 years, eBay plans to cut off PayPal as its main payments processor Should be interesting to see when this is fully implemented but I think overall it will be a positive change |

glacier922 | 05-04-2018 02:47 PM | Re: After 15 years, eBay plans to cut off PayPal as its main payments processor It's true dude. I can handle the 200/20k requests from paypal. Ebay though, not so sure. |
aspkin | 05-04-2018 11:53 PM | Re: After 15 years, eBay plans to cut off PayPal as its main payments processor EBay makes more money this way, they have more control of the backend, less overhead. THis is a no brainer. I'm surprised it has taken them this long to implement. I can see eBay turning this into something like Amazon where you have your card on file.. making it easier to purchase. Maybe than eBay will stop losing marketshare. |
phaz0rz | 05-05-2018 09:00 AM | Re: After 15 years, eBay plans to cut off PayPal as its main payments processor I doubt it. This is too little, too late. eBay will be a non-point by the time they get this fully implemented, judging by the pace of Amazon's growth.
They owned PP for the longest time so they had full control over payments. Then they realized buyers would rather complete the transaction all on one site like they do on Amazon. So they're trying to slowly transition into that kind of system, but I think it's going to end up hurting them. There are too many eBay sellers relying on Paypal's leniency at this point. |
glacier922 | 05-06-2018 01:26 AM | Re: After 15 years, eBay plans to cut off PayPal as its main payments processor I hope so. With PayPal, the system is still integrated so they don't even need to have a PayPal account to make the purchase. PayPal is smart too, not make consumers jump through hoops just to pay, which includes 2.9% fee + .30 on paypals part, why makebcusktmers go through 20 pages of clicking for that? |
Hercules | 05-06-2018 07:25 PM | Re: After 15 years, eBay plans to cut off PayPal as its main payments processor PP will be there for sellers at least. An EB acct is only good for buying on EB. EB doesn't want the money that sellers collect to go to the bank just yet. They will be buying with their PP accts somehow all over the net. EB still owns and collects PP profits. I believe you will be able to sent money to a PP acct for what ever reason you want. PP won't be collecting it the old way from sales on EB.. |
