Default The biggest sellers getting banned

Has anyone else noticed that a few of the biggest Ebay US sellers are getting suspended/banned? Is Ebay cracking down on some things? I thought Ebay would let their largest sellers get away with bloody murder.

How do you know? And even if they are not sure what was the reason it could be anything

I saw one a few months back who had their listings taken down and they haven't been put back up. I just looked at another bigger seller, and it is the same thing. I am just surprised that Ebay would do that.

As the other poster just said, you technically don’t know that eBay took them down. Businesses close, people get illnesses that affect their productivity and other outside factors may lead to a large store closure.

The bigger they are, the harder they fall.

Soon they'll be coming here. Always happens after a purge. Waiting for an influx of new membership.

You think they got taken down just because they don't put listings up anymore?!!

If that is your criteria, then you are probably miscalculating my friend.

I always forget about the surge of people coming to the forum asking for help. Remember the huge purge that went down 1-2 years ago? accounts were getting banned left, and right, and upside down!

I was one of those 14,000 top 1% selling accounts that got the axe for being controlling back in 2013. Big accounts get rolled too. Just takes a little longer. Exactly 30 days to be precise.

owning to much % of a categories sales. Hence they cut 14,000 top 1% sellers in one month. Eliminate the big players that keep prices low and competitors out and it allows small sellers to flood the market.

My nitch now has thousands of listings and hundreds of sellers. Back then a few and we all knew each other.

Just doesn't make sense... it's usually the small sellers they don't give a sh1t about!

If you look at current eBay I'd say they accomplished their goal. The way their search algorithm works indicates they purposely keep sellers from dominating a niche. You're lucky if you can keep a listing in the top spot for a month before it's made almost invisible. Older accounts surrender their listing visibility to newer accounts. They want seller diversity and I can understand why.

How does that benefit eBay? To take a great selling listing, and bump it down and down.

Didn't they used to have "best match" showing the most relevant listings? You're saying that's changed?

I haven't been selling much on there for a while, so I haven't noticed what you speak of.

They would rather have a ton of sellers doing moderately well than 10 sellers doing 90% of all eBay sales because it gives them more control over the marketplace. I'll try to go into more detail after coffee lol.

more variety to the buyer, better buyer options etc....Small sellers pay more in fees and have much less support.

Big sellers have extra rules to follow because one bad day can piss off hundred or thousands of ebay customers. I specifically mean, a big seller gets sick and ships late etc... Big seller has a problem and burns them for 100K in fees. Big seller has a problem and does not ship items for a few days can cause ebay tens of thousands of dollars in lost potential revenue and customer support, cases, etc....

They really want small sellers and GIANT companies. Just look at the new store options. $5 a month and thousands of dollars a month for enterprises.

This is horse**it. I keep my eyes on some big Ebay sellers and their accounts are 10+ years old. One of them has been dominating his category for years now.

If you are a big seller who's moving weight and making thousands in $ in revenue, Ebay loves and adores you. They will never ever think about banning you unless you piss them really off.
