Of course it matters. Think about human being psychology.. If your description looks reliable, included photos with good quality, affordable pricing, etc, then they will treat you as trustworthy, not lazy and respecting buyers seller.

So don't be lazy and make your description looks nice

I think that if the designs are pleasing without being crowded that makes it easier for the buyer to browse and read the info (If they even have the ability to read that is) *snickers*

I never liked it when sellers just put up a text, but it's way more annoying when I can't read or view the info with ease.

So the simpler and cleaner the better.

Simple and clean means, NO TEMPLATE! I avoid those sellers and listings because they are oftentimes hard to use and often from people over seas running them in my experience. They typically have slow shipping and terrible customer service.

For example, I use auctiva for one of my Chinese sellers. They can easily run ebay from china using auctiva. I ship the item. It works but it is not ideal. It is exactly why I try not to buy from those type of listings.

Plus on mobile, details can be very hard to find. Details such as description. I hate when I cant read a description and have to make a few more clicks.

I can just tell you for myself at least, if I enounter a "complicated" listing that lengthy or full of too much graphics (i.e. CRAP) I'll promptly navigate away and go buy from another seller who has a simpler description.

No need to be flashy or showy. Just get the sale done with as little fanfare and hype as possible.
