| | | walkingupwards | 03-20-2018 04:02 PM | Does listing design matter? Do nice template designs really improve sales? I am based in Germany, tried to use some US based services like Crazylister, but that didn't work with Ebay.de
Local services seem to be a bit expensive and in some cases out of date (design-wise).
Any suggestions? |

Many if not most templates are not visible on a mobile device or at least not well.
Uploading multiple real pictures and typing a description and then testing on an older iphone and Samsung phone is your best option IMO |

Can prolly increase 3% sales | Templates don't work super well for creativity purposes - where are you getting this "3%" from? |

I've experimented with both listing styles and templates always do worse. Templates were optimal ten years ago when most users were still buying from a computer. They don't do so well now. |

| dallis | 03-21-2018 09:12 AM | Re: Does listing design matter? Remember: this ridiculous question was brought to us by the guy whose 'best thought out threads' parade includes such old favorites as:
"I don't sell on AZ but IF I did and IF I got lots of Negs would they ban me?"
"If three of my family members opened an EB account in the same city as me would EB ban us?"
AND because that wasn't ridiculous enough, it's sister thread:
"If three of my family members opened an AZ account in the same city as me would AZ ban us?"
PLUS, for extra giggles:
"Apple is suing me and EB suspended me and all I did was sell 6000 phake iphone cords!" |
| phaz0rz | 03-21-2018 09:22 AM | Re: Does listing design matter? I was just trying to answer the question. OP has stuck around to share his German perspective despite being constantly berated with insults since his first post. He's given Aspkin money and he's a contributing member of the forum. This really isn't the place to ride around on a high horse judging people. It's akin to going on a carding forum and acting like you're the new king because you've never participated in CC fraud. |

So in your opinion what's the best option that would also be mobile-friendly? What do you use? |

| SaiJin | 03-21-2018 08:47 PM | Re: Does listing design matter? Hmmm... so far I have been using auctiva for my templates. Simple and clean, looks good too so it's easier for buyers to navigate even on mobile devices.
CHeck them out and see if it works for you |

Seems "some" members may be in a bad mood lately. Maybe they need a break from the forum for a bit. :bored: |

In my opinion that's the way to go. When I find a cluttered template-generated listing on eBay I usually look for another seller. Those listings slow down my browser and remind me of Myspace. |

You KNOW that's killing their sales... I seldom bother clicking those buttons unless it's something I really want. |

| ebaystealth1974 | 03-22-2018 09:54 AM | Re: Does listing design matter? Possibly. I don't shop from the app. |
Re: Does listing design matter? Simple and mobile friendly is definitely the best as of right now. As long as your description is well written and everything is laid out coherently, it should do well. |
| Gladiator | 03-22-2018 05:30 PM | Re: Does listing design matter? I've never bought an item off one seller over another because they had fancy templates. I just want photos of the item, a decent description and affordable pricing & shipping.
I look at most stuff on my iPhone and iPad, so as others have said a mobile friendly setup is best. If you google eBay mobile listing templates you can get a good idea of the basic things you'd need to do if you want it a little fancy vs just plain text. |
| xasnoxcho05 | 04-04-2018 09:02 AM | Re: Does listing design matter? Anyone can explain what you need initially before buying a ready account and do it on your computer
Sorry for the clumsy English I write Google translator |

The fancy templates sometimes deter me because I can't find the info that I'm looking for! |
| DomRau | 04-04-2018 09:56 AM | Re: Does listing design matter? Of course it matters. Think about human being psychology.. If your description looks reliable, included photos with good quality, affordable pricing, etc, then they will treat you as trustworthy, not lazy and respecting buyers seller.
So don't be lazy and make your description looks nice |
| SaiJin | 04-04-2018 09:58 AM | Re: Does listing design matter? I think that if the designs are pleasing without being crowded that makes it easier for the buyer to browse and read the info (If they even have the ability to read that is) *snickers*
I never liked it when sellers just put up a text, but it's way more annoying when I can't read or view the info with ease.
So the simpler and cleaner the better. |
| yankee | 04-04-2018 10:05 AM | Re: Does listing design matter? Simple and clean means, NO TEMPLATE! I avoid those sellers and listings because they are oftentimes hard to use and often from people over seas running them in my experience. They typically have slow shipping and terrible customer service.
For example, I use auctiva for one of my Chinese sellers. They can easily run ebay from china using auctiva. I ship the item. It works but it is not ideal. It is exactly why I try not to buy from those type of listings.
Plus on mobile, details can be very hard to find. Details such as description. I hate when I cant read a description and have to make a few more clicks. |
| nickopedia | 04-04-2018 10:38 AM | Re: Does listing design matter? I can just tell you for myself at least, if I enounter a "complicated" listing that lengthy or full of too much graphics (i.e. CRAP) I'll promptly navigate away and go buy from another seller who has a simpler description.
