ebay/paypal cookie - just one file or many files?

I have looked and see many cookies for ebay.
Not sure about Paypal, I didn't look.

Can someone remind me how to get to the exact cookies?
(I can't remember what the thread was that gave a guide to get the cookie and use with portable Chrome.)

What's stored in the cookie?
(I asked this before... still need some answers.)

Does it for example store the number of times you have visited?

Thanks.

All about cookies - http://www.bbc.co.uk/webwise/guides/about-cookies

Why are you asking? If you elaborate, I may be able to better assist you.

i had the amazing brilliant idea of storing Chrome (and Opera) portable in Dropbox. Then I could run the same on different computers.

Bad idea I found out later.
Both browsers have very long convoluted names and many files levels.
Dropbox would go crazy and would not function.
So a bad idea.

So, what I wanted was to write some code that at least kept a backup copy of the cookies concerned. Should I ever need to use on another computer, I would have the needed files at hand. (Which I would store in my Dropbox folder.)

So... I just need to identify the files concerned.
Hope that makes sense.

Thanks.

I tend to keep physical backups, using an external hard drive. That's the best way, rather than relying on cloud based system (which are still good). For what you're trying to do, may be worth looking into.

One thing I didn't quite understand was your concern with syncing/backing up portable browsers to a dropbox folder. I can't see any issue with that?

Perhaps running the browser direct from dropbox may be an issue, but if you "sync" the folder to the system you're using it on, it should be fine. From my understanding the file names etc. aren't long. I haven't tried this myself, but I cannot foresee an issue. Perhaps worth trying before giving up?

@rsot, I can write the code. :)
This part isn't too complex - it's just knowing which files.

@Play, I thought Dropbox was an amazing idea. Some guys at Dropbox told me: bad idea. There will be syncing problems, file duplicates and files lost.

I found the thread: https://www.aspkin.com/forums/ebay-d...e-firefox.html

I'm going to write some code to backup and email or save in Dropbox folder or something.

On another note: Firefox and other browsers should be kept upto date IMHO. I've seen others mention that they use different Firefox versions with different ID's - to put off the ebay hounds. I read up on how to control what information the browser sends back - like version of browser and screen resolution and other things. The great thing is, you CONTROL what is sent out! You can write whatever you like. I found a thread on this... but trying to find again.
