Re: How do you guys handle these customers?
I get this request almost every day on Etsy and always ship to the updated address. Not once in the years I've been selling there has the person been a scammer or opened a claim against me for this reason. I would probably be more cautious on Amazon though. I feel like Amazon buyers use Amazon so actively and are more likely to have their address updated. You don't buy everyday items on Etsy though so I can understand its extremely likely they haven't logged in or purchased anything a long time and their stuff is no longer up to date. Also Etsy buyers tend to be sending gifts more frequently so that makes sense. It's a tough call with eBay but if they don't stand behind you even with the internal message asking for an address change I don't think it's worth it to take the risk. It doesn't even make sense on eBay's end to side with the buyer. If a scammer managed to log in and order an item then they wouldn't need to message you and ask to change the address they could have just changed it in checkout. EBays policy is basically encouraging scammers because they found a stupid loophole that makes no sense. I hate eBay so much their buyers, their policies, and the way they treat sellers is the worst.
