Default How do you guys handle buyer protection cases with address's?

Normally when a buyer would like to return something. I just message him through the ebay messenger and tell him or her to send the item to my p.o box for a complete refund. I would do the same P.o box for every account that needed a return.

However when a case is opened you are forced to input an address into a box to be saved on file with your account or use an existing address that is already on file on your account.. Well I think anyway?.

Anyway Do you need a P.o Box for every stealth account you make or am I missing something?. Do you maybe have to Refund before the return and then message the buyer through the messenger and hope they send it back to your P.o box that way.

Anyway thanks. Really confused on this subject. Hope this helps others aswell.

Use the messenger, or you can use a variation of your address. Usually I will just tell them to return the package to the return address on the package as it is always an address I have access to.

Agree - I have the return address on the label and tell them to use that. If they dont have the box, I provide an address variation.

When a case is open, it seems eB asks the customer to return the package back to the address on file with eB/PP, and to also provide tracking so they can confirm delivery to that on file address. I'm not aware of being able to add a return address during a case, I could be wrong.

So, unfortunately yes, it seems to avoid having them ship to the stealth address on file, you would need to refund first and hope they return the item to the address you request. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Not sure if there's any way around this. I haven't had a case open in forever. If anyone knows a way around this, I would also be interested in knowing.

Doubt she would have many complaints but...all signs point to Sandy D on this.

Regardless of the number of accounts being run, it is preferable to have access to the address.

Variations of addresses are dangerous, and lazy stealth work.

Risk is always there of account being viewed manually OR a buyer reporting address variations to either paypal/ebay.

It does not matter if it is one account or dozens.

What's an address variation for a PO Box.

just Box instead of ,P.O Box?

Would that work?

Or can I have the same P.O box on multiple accounts without it linking?.

I could use a name variation but I don't want to get my brothers account banned aswell because I added his address to my now banned ebay account when I moved here 2 years ago. Or Will it not effect him because he had the address on his account first?.

Also I was thinking that these stealth users have many, many P.o Boxes correct?.

Or maybe they just take a hit, get scammed, and or refund money before return?.

I usually just send the buyer a prepaid label with the correct address on it. Takes the guess out of it so the buyer doesn't mess up. What's $5 to keep your account safe? EBay would never know the address then

Don't you have to pay 5$ on every item shipped?. Also that kinda does not help with cases /: . See... I got 2 scampers in one month,, ridicules.

I'm confused with the A and B. And is this bulletproof?. i honestly can't take the risk of ebay shutting me down here right now.

I run 100s of account over a period of time switching back and forth and building and seldom ever get any returns at all.

This is how I handle returns.

Low price, keep the item as a gift and refund the full amount. Exchange positives and move on.

Higher price, already in my listing.

I will accept a return but my instructions must be followed or the item will be refused.

Return DEPT.

239 Main St
Anytown, USA
33333

Must be marked properly, must be marked RETURNS DEPT and item must be in the EXACT same condition as sent.

You get the idea.

I use multiple PO Boxes, USPS, mom and pops etc but always keep track of what account gets what sent in case of returns so I dont switch them up ever.

Nothing is bulletproof but it works well for me. A lot depends on how you operate. If you operate well and avoid high-risk items, problematic situations, questionable activity (like withdrawals, suspicion of fraud, etc), the A and B variation works well in both US and Canada. I have done that - of course, my address is of no real concern for returns because, like Sandy D, I dont have returns - buyers know what they get and I take extra measures if there is any return involved since my items tend to be very very specific, not mass-marketed items.

What I stated was not to send a return label with every item shipped just when they want to return. Ask them for their email and send it there. They print out your label and the guess work is left out.

Won't the same return department in multiple accounts item descriptions cause a link?.

Also I meant I Wasconfused about the A-/-B thing. Why would A or B work as substitute for the word BOX I don't understand.

Also I sell Electronic of all types and of all conditions. So I get a 2 to 3 returns every month over about 40 to 50 items.

I have 3 ebay accounts and 2 amazon accounts. I think Ile get a P.o Box for the second one and use a name variation for the 3rd. Saves me some money. I just can't risk my 2 main accounts with a link until I get a 3rd or 4th up.

I dont put address in the listing.

I send an email, not through ebay, but to the buyers email.

Send them an ebay message to check their email etc.

Give them the address and specific instructions from there.

Sandy's advice is on point.

As for your q on why would A or B work as substitute forthe word BOX...just send a letter to yourself - there is no real explanation for this - it works...if you dont get the letter, then your post office is bit rougher on their boxes.

Dont link yourself on the eB or Az platform by giving out more info than necessary.

One of tbe problem I just realized is what about my buisness name 0n the p.o box. Lets say it were ( phone cel) or somthing and it comes to (phone cel) under the box a120 instead of p.o box 120 0n qn0ther ebay account. Despite the address variation Wont the names link the account?. Because I know that my postal service wont accept mail in anyones name except the biisness name or tbe sign up name on the account. Or do you have to add other names to ths p.o box so kt wont link?.
