Win XP Internet not working In VirtualBox or VMware?

Win 7 works perfect in VirtualBox and VMware, but Win XP is just a pain to get it to connect to the internet

I tried everything from shared folders and changing network settings, but it just doesn't work!!

I would love to have 20 WinXP VMs running on my PC, please help!

I only use XP for my VM's and it works fine. It communicates with the host computer as well as any other VM OS so you must have a configuration error somewhere.

Are you installing VMware tools on all of your VM's after you finish installing XP?

Also what network settings are you using for your VM and how do you normally connect to the internet when not on a VM?
