| | | TheRealist | 03-13-2019 02:41 PM | Don't Fall Below Standard! Criminal fees! So one of my accounts fell below standard due to 3 cases out of like 1000 being decided in the customers favor (honestly the customers just called eBay before I could respond)
So Im working diligently of course and extra hard on this account to get it restored....
I go to pay fees, Lo And Behold, eBay is charging an ADDITIONAL 4% ON FINAL VALUE FEES! Due to Being Below Standard!
Each transaction in small bold letters (additional 4% fee due to below standard)
Thats criminal!
Thats a lot! THAT IS AN ADDITIONAL 4% ON TOP OF THE NORMAL SELLER FEES!!
I can sustain a successful business model but how can I keep selling like this?
Advice my fellow bros and sis?
Thanks |

14% FVF is for substandard seller, next step is suspend your selling privilege. |
| yankee | 03-13-2019 03:53 PM | Re: Don't Fall Below Standard! Criminal fees! Dont go below stands. Pretty simple stuff man. Your excuse is nothing more than an excuse. They called ebay because you did not respond for days. Dont do that. |

it is 3 out of 1000 cases |
| JamesNorth101 | 03-13-2019 05:25 PM | Re: Don't Fall Below Standard! Criminal fees! It does sound like you gave had 1000’s cases opened against you and you have lost 3. Having 1000 cases opened against you isn’t great |
| Jennifer91 | 03-13-2019 05:36 PM | Re: Don't Fall Below Standard! Criminal fees! Also under seller hub for Performance it has seller metrics.
If you go in the red bar for "Item not received requests" and still delivered do you pay a fee if it goes at the 1%? Because at times, it's delivered and buyers still open up. I had a few buyers open these up for the wrong seller. Even if it closes in your favor how does this play into it?
I think this 4% is just another money grab. |
| TheRealist | 03-13-2019 05:45 PM | Re: Don't Fall Below Standard! Criminal fees! Pardon guys! I meant I had 3 cases decided against me out of like 1000 transactions.
I have had around 7-8 cases opened in TOTAL, but 3 decided against me- Out of 1000 transactions- Lead to below standard.
NOT 1000 Cases Opened.
lol
And I have definitely learned my lesson.
I def became complacent.
Thanks |

Thanks | I figured this part, most didn't.
As some said, don't let ebay close it for you. You don't want that! |
| TheRealist | 03-14-2019 09:39 AM | Re: Don't Fall Below Standard! Criminal fees! I've decided to keep selling on this account-- Its going to take some work...And some fees...Hmmm |
| phaz0rz | 03-14-2019 11:18 AM | Re: Don't Fall Below Standard! Criminal fees! You can get past it. They warned us like a year ago they were going to start punishing accounts that go below standard with higher fees. Accounts that fall below standard usually end up costing eBay the most money, so I can't blame them for doing this. |

The majority of human beings are consumers.
A very small % are creators.
If it's the other way around, this country wouldn't be as rich as it is. |
| meloncoly | 03-14-2019 02:50 PM | Re: Don't Fall Below Standard! Criminal fees! They've really put the squeeze on sellers. They've also reduced the discount you get as a top rated seller. It's very annoying but you really have no choice but to refund every buyer for everything if they want it. Even if they are obviously scamming you. The extra fees are just not worth it. |

Imagine how many people there are shopping in the average Wal-Mart compared to the number of people who own that Wal-Mart. The ratio is similar on eBay and Amazon. |

Thanks | ok, but 3 out of 1000 would STILL not make you below standard. So you aren't telling us something. that's .30%. To qoute ebay.
Top Rated 0.30% or less
So, tell us what you aren't telling us. |
| agent006140 | 03-17-2019 10:55 AM | Re: Don't Fall Below Standard! Criminal fees! correct me If I am wrong,if buyer opens a case and Ebay ends up having to intervene,it is one strike against you.
3 strikes will get you a lower rating? |

| TheRealist | 03-18-2019 05:49 PM | Re: Don't Fall Below Standard! Criminal fees! I have 3 of 419 transactions closed without seller resolution. NOT 3 OF 419 CASES. BUT 3 OF 419 TRANSACTIONS.
That is the cause of my below standard rating.
I just looked into it... |
| cmckim | 03-18-2019 09:00 PM | Re: Don't Fall Below Standard! Criminal fees! Any open case if a buyer contacts ebay support, ebay is more likely to lose that customer so ebay charges you severely for the "crime" you committed. They also have a new 4% fee implemented on very high return rate as well. Just to be aware of that. |

Pretty sure everyone here knows the metric, bruv. |

So why do you feel he was saying correct to the first half of the statement, but not the second half? It is two parts of one statement. The first one explaining the reason for the second one. |

I just looked into it... | I thought you said you had over 1000 transactions? You're more than twice the " legal limit" for cases closed against seller. |
| TheRealist | 03-19-2019 10:53 AM | Re: Don't Fall Below Standard! Criminal fees! I was exaggerating to make a point. But those are the exact numbers. I didn't think it would be so harsh since I used to have this account Top Rated.
Working on it! |
| TheRealist | 03-19-2019 10:55 AM | Re: Don't Fall Below Standard! Criminal fees! Based on the numbers I disclosed, 3 of 419.. Does anyone here know the metrics to get back to Standard/ Above Standard? |
| Sunspot144 | 03-19-2019 12:41 PM | Re: Don't Fall Below Standard! Criminal fees! Keep selling / or don't.
Yer evaluated 3 months back every 20th of the month if you've completed 400+ transactions.
2 months back iirc if less than 400.
As long as you improve your seller defect % every month you'll get more time, and it will eventually go back to above. |

I will no longer incur the fees and I will get this account back to TopRated.
Thanks all for feedback + support.
