I go to pay fees, Lo And Behold, eBay is charging an ADDITIONAL 4% ON FINAL VALUE FEES! Due to Being Below Standard!
Each transaction in small bold letters (additional 4% fee due to below standard)
Thats criminal!
Thats a lot! THAT IS AN ADDITIONAL 4% ON TOP OF THE NORMAL SELLER FEES!!
I can sustain a successful business model but how can I keep selling like this?
Advice my fellow bros and sis?
Thanks | Ebay is becoming deader and deader, when very little buyers leave you seller feedback then that means the place has become a ghosttown.
I have started selling on Ebid ( ebid.net ), in the UK final value fee is 2%, my products show up in Google and i'm starting to see an average of one sale every 2-3 days.
I sell books magazines computer games. Give Ebid a try as its fun to use and less seller competition. Their Ebay Ninja lister is much easier to use since they done an upgrade |

Ebay mobile app just shows percent positive on initial interface. Have to dig deeper to see actual number of feedback. Wonder if that was intentional... |

| degsey69 | 03-24-2019 01:17 AM | Re: Don't Fall Below Standard! Criminal fees! Being below standard carries more penalties than just extra 4% fees, you lose placing in the search for your listing on best match, they sometimes also kick in the 21 day hold on PayPal as well.
You need to keep communicating with the customer, deal with any cases opened by them in the resolution center before they can escalate it. Hate to say it but giving refunds saves the account. Also the thread starter did not mention his feedback rate which I would think is poor also. |
| agent006140 | 03-24-2019 07:27 AM | Re: Don't Fall Below Standard! Criminal fees! if he cant afford the extra 4%,then he should quit Ebay and sell on another venue or find something else to do with his time.

You hear people making 1-3k a month before tax,do you think it is not a real job spending your time finding goods to sell, taking pictures, listing them ,packing and shipping and leaving feedback and keeping records?
Packages do not just fly out of the window, you have to bring it to the post office or schedule a pickup.
If a seller is making $3k a month net of all expenses before tax,he is doing well, not too many sellers make that much, some dont even know how much they make or lose?
Oh,dont forget overtime and weekend,no one is going to compensate you for that, and dont expect dinner allowance if you work late |

Oh,dont forget overtime and weekend,no one is going to compensate you for that, and dont expect dinner allowance if you work late | It's not a real job tho. Not really. I mean sure, once you get closer to $3000 a month net, and above, ok. At $2000 or less, you're at or below the poverty line. Is it real work? Sure. Is it a job? not really. If he's making $3000 net, then that seller probably isn't the person I'm talking about, eh?
If 4% makes or breaks you, while making $3000 a month, you're gross sales must be huge. a profit margin that can't take -+4%, isn't a real job. It's a waste of your time. Calculate the hours worked, and see how much you're actually making per hour. |

Selling on eBay is not a "Job"- it is an entrepreneurial venture- Usually at first managed by 1 individual and gradually as one becomes acquainted with the art of online sales, they may have to hire out and expand...
I left my "job" working for the State, a 9-5, to pursue eBay full time- and I have grown substantially...
Next: I hope people understand that +=4% Is huge, in any industry when it comes to sales---And I hope people understand that this applies to only one of my stores  - so of course leverage is key.... |

Ya ever considered going negative in small niches just to starve out competition long enough so they couldn't be in business anymore? :pop2:

Heil Thesaurus. | lol but I used it correctly the first time, which shows you I know what the word is, and that it was clearly a mistake. I'm not ignorant, and it didn't help me learn. This is an international site as well, so it's full of poor grammar. I'll call people out for these things, but only when it's needed to show they are no better than the people they are making fun of. But in this situation? It was kinda a waste of a post. No one learned anything. |

No one learned anything. | If you purchased a black colour tyre and paid by cheque, the text is full of spelling mistakes, however in the UK where the English language started it is correct (also in Canada and the majority of the English speaking world)
Tolerance for suspected grammatical errors should be observed on an international forum as it may not be incorrect in the country of the forum member. |

1) +-4% is huge in any market- go look at any and all industries- Mortgages- real estate- e-comm--- every percent matters as volume grows- consider 1000 pieces charged at +-4%-- Get the point small guy?
2)+-4% has not broken my business, obviously I am expanding beyond the 6 figure mark
