Phaz0rz is right, customers get shown totally different results from the one you see, this is actually how eBay could legally distribute sales as they please. If they distribute sales other way they could open their company to a flood of anti-trust lawsuits.
I always have a listing in #1 position and I watch how many times it gets viewed, it gets around 15 to 20 views per hour while in the same time window a thousand if not more person was on eBay looking for the item I have up for sale... So how do you explain this to me?
Anyway, they have wrecked the traffic we used to get in the last couple years by promoting and bringing the idea of "Promoted listings" very aggressively. They are literally assassinating the potential growth of every business active on their site by doing this, but they keep going ahead with it for the very short-term profit it generates.
