Default eBay ending listings (no reason given)

I am not sure if it’s related to lack of item specifics or using out of stock control and having items with qty 0 for a few weeks, but it seems eBay is ending some of my listings without informing me. Anyone else have this issue? I am seeing active number drop and unsold number increase, with no messages from enay

Please elaborate tin. It was my understanding items with out of stock control should not end unless qty=0 for 3 consecutive months.

This sounds like a glitch to me. My guess would be that it relates to the restructuring of item specifics and the resulting bugs that eBay has been updating us on all week.

Your understanding of the out of stock option is correct. When enabled, your zero'd out listings will stay active for up to 3 months unless you manually end them. Using the out of stock option is not limited to stores (it's available to everybody) so whether you have a store subscription or not should be irrelevant.

I do agree however that the only way you'll be able to find out what's up is to contact eBay. I haven't had any listings end unexpectedly lately but I have noticed a ton of other hiccups in the past week, because of the item specifics changes they've been making.

Could eBay be ending listings that do not include the necessary item specifics? Calling eBay is useless. I just put does not apply for most and maybe eBay doesn’t like?

They've made 3 announcements relating to the bugs that resulted from the modification of item specifics. None of them say anything about listings being ended but eBay is notoriously vague in their announcements, so your guess is as good as mine. Have you read the latest announcement from the 18th? It basically says they've fixed one of the problems they created but they still have stuff to work on before everything is fully stable again.

I don't really think calling them would be useless in this case, but, to each their own.

eBay is looking for new ways to make the platform less attractive to both buyers and sellers.

They introduced the "sell it quicker" feature on eBay.de a bout a year ago and since then it is a pain in the ass for a new listing to get up in search. Even using the promoted listing bull**** is not making eBay functional as it used to be.

Anyway, I think it is time to start planning the Amazon migration because there could be no future for this whole eBay thing.
