Requesting Limit Increase

So I'm borrowing a friend's eBay account using a VPN and it's been a member since 2012. Would it be safe to call in and request a limit increase? It's currently at the 5/500 level.

Call them. If you have good seller history it shouldn't be a problem.

That's not exactly accurate.
Calling them means you bring attention to your account.
there's always an off chance something may go wrong.

But on the positive note, you may get lucky with this one as well
