new seller. INR case when tracking shows delivered.
 

hi. im a new seller and i have a situation i never have before. so i sold a 100$ value item and shipped it in a timely manner

recently i have a message from a buyer that states the item was not received by him.

my first thought was its a scam! but buyer provided me with the link to website when it clearly says the item was delivered to a wrong city and wrong zipcode

the buyer shipping address was CITY1 zipcode 111345
and the item was delivered to CITY2 zipdoce 111789

i googled both cities and the distance between cities is 40 kilometers and it really looks like the item was miss-delivered

i even called ebay to make sure thing are not right and they confirmed that the item was delivered to a wrong zipcode and wrong city

the buyer did not open INR case hes asking me to provide a proof of postage atm

was anyone in the same situation like me? how should i proceed? who ebay will side if the buyer will open INR case?

post office talks to post office,try asking your post office to email USPS and ask them why?
I am afraid not much they can do,you will have to refund your buyer or Ebay will do it for you.

it was international sale. why is it my responsibility? can u explain please. i shipped the item in a timely manner and i shipped it to buyer address. what else can i do to make it delivered to correct address?

Was it a eBay Global sale as you are not responsible if eBay shipped the order overseas and gets misdelivered.

i dont sell via GSP because sales are low with it
i guess buyers dont want to pay that much so i have to ship on my own

Until the item successfully reaches the customers hands (in person) or the item "successfully" delivered to the right address (shipped), its the sellers responsibility to make things right. If roles were reversed, how would you feel?

Its up to you to contact the post office, file the claim, refund the customer or make things right, etc.

Cost of doing business my friend...it sucks, but its the life we chose.

It is your responsibility to deliver the goods in good order,you have decided t o use a particular shipper to deliver your goods.
refund your buyer and then ask your post office to contact US post office to find out why it is delivered to a different address.
question-do you have the entire tracking history?
Did your buyer move?
In US,if we move,we can file a form and ask our local post office to forward our mail to our new address

Open case with your Post Office.
I have never had same issue, but some of my registered mails lost, I always got at least 50 USD refund from Post Service.

but i only able to choose the carrier in my country and i have no power to take any actions when the item will arrive in the buyers country

why in the world is it sellers fault? i shipped to the buyers shipping address and because of carrier fault i have to pay out of my pocket? is it what its called sellers protection?

i think ebay need to cover this lose out of his pocket!

Many countries will never have a delivery scan. That's the cost of doing business internationally, unless you're willing to pay for a better service. How does ebay know you didn't completely mess up the shipping label, and that's why it got stuck somewhere? Or messed up the customs form, so now it's stuck in customs? You will never win this case with ebay. Trust me. I have tried. Many many many times.

as sellers, we are responsible to get the item to the buyer. We choose the company that does this. We pay them. It's our responsibility. Ebay also ships items internationally, through GSP. I don't personally want to use the program. BUT, if it gets lost with them shipping it, EBAY will pay out the buyer for the loss, because it was ebays responsibility to ship the item, just as it is yours.

Sorry, meant to say, delivered to the buyer. Packages also show delivered if the item is returned to the sender.

i must be covered under seller protection because all i need to do is ship to buyers address in a timely manner which i did

i dont have power to know why someone missdelivered my parcel and i have a label with correct buyers address

Buyer is in USA,but it was delivered to a different zipcode.
I think OP needs to take a lesson on retail 101.
A retailer can make money,he can also lose money.
