I think this is in the wrong forum, it should be in Discussions, but I'm just nitpicking.
Vladuz, well known yes, but don't be silly -- he did not have anything to do with programming eBay's security. He is some Russian teenager (or early 20s) who is a millionaire from scamming people on and off eBay. He caused a big huffle a couple of months ago because he found a way around eBay's filters and was able to successfully list a ton of items which didn't get flagged and so got noticed worldwide. He did not hack eBay's systems.
I repeat he did NOT hack eBay's systems.
He just found a way to get around the filters and list stuff which weren't getting auto flagged by the filters.
The 'pink' account which he took over is just that. A dumb employee fell for a ⊗⊗⊗⊗ login page and logged into a spoof page. From the outside that Vlad fellow had no access or way to get into the eBay systems, even with the employee's login info.
Anyways, Vlad is old news now. The police tracked him down and he fled to Romania. eBay's fixed the methods he used to get around the system and everyone's moderately upset as normal. Vlad's old news |
