Default Does anybody Drop Ship anymore?

I was thinking about dropshipping a few items a month. This account doesn't get holds anymore so money comes in freely. Does anyone still drop ship? I think I asked this before but I couldn't find the thread.

I would actually advise against it especially this time of year. I tried last year around Christmas time and it ended in disaster (granted I only lost $400- but it could've easily been much worse)

Technically I dropship because I don't stock any products. But I don't work with any dropshipping companies. I purchase directly from manufacturers and I personally oversee the shipping process to Buyers.

Yes, I do. We all agree that PayPal sucks, but they do offer very competitive rates for online transactions.

There can be. But it can sometimes (often) be problematic. Shippers often send the wrong product. Items can be significantly delayed. Many issues.

I just find it hard to believe that paypal doesnt get suspicious when they see your paying the same supplier over and over for your drop shipped items?

Why would they get suspicious? How often would somebody be expected to change supplier?

Kroger has been buying soup from Campbell's for decades. That's normal behavior. A seller finds a decent source, they stick with it.

I have discovered in the past that PP isn't entirely comfortable with people who sell items that are dropshipped. But it isn't a complete no-no with them either.

I had sent them supplier info and invoices for something. They contacted me about that. I called them and spoke about it on the phone. They grilled me over medium hot coals. After I pointed out that I had been doing it for quite some time and that there were ZERO buyer complaints in addition to having my source be reputable and reliable, they relented and let it ride.

As long as your source is reliable and you are willing to 'stand behind that and stick to your guns', PP does sometimes back off. They get nervous, and you can't really blame them. How often do dropshippers cause problems during the course of transactions? PP just wants to be sure you have decent control over the transaction from start to end.

I use PayPal to receive payments, not to make payments to my vendors. I don't trust PayPal enough to do that. One of the vendors I purchase from on a daily basis has a Bank of America account and I can transfer funds to their account with a few mouseclicks. I fill out a "Direct Deposit Confirmation Form" and fax it to my vendor and just like that it's ready to be picked up my freight company.

Vic is 100% absolutely correct. Do not tell PayPal you are dropshipping. If they ask, YOU STOCK ALL OF YOUR ITEMS IN A WAREHOUSE AND YOU HAVE BEEN IN BUSINESS FOR 5+ YEARS!

I drop ship one of my accounts. But, I typically stop in November and don't pick up again until February. I stock up throughout the year to get me through the holiday season.

Funny you said that, b/c this is what I do now. I receive the paypal payments, transfer the $ to my bank, then use that to send the payment to venders. I just make 1 WU payment for about 5 orders and thats it.

Rock and roll, man! Sounds like you got a pretty sweet system worked out.

I really like what I've got going on at the moment... nearly all of my vendors bank with BOA so it's super convenient. I even like to take strolls down to my local BOA branch and make deposits sometimes. It's pretty funny to see the bank tellers eyes bug out when they see my vendor's balance. I wouldn't be surprised if there's over a million dollars in there, LOL.

But, one of my vendors uses Wells Fargo, and ugh, Wells Fargo is such a PITA! :(
