Re: Tax question on US Ebay (Canadian resident - Items are not from Canada)
you are in Canada, but you want to sell on Ebay USA and you have no merchandise but rely on someone to ship your order, that someone is not in Canada?correct ?
-first you can use your Ebay canada account to list on Ebay USA,all your items would be listed in US$,payments made to you would be in US $,SO you need to find out how MP will deposit your sales proceeds, assuming your bank account is with a CANADIAN bank and in Canadian currency.
-second,dropshipping from your wholesaler/distributor is fine but from another retailer is retail arbitrage and is not allowed on Ebay.
-on your Ebay listing you will be asked t o enter information such as when can you ship, where is the item located and how long would it take the item to arrive and return policy of 30 days or no return.
You also have to provide a return shipping address in case your buyer files item not as described and you will supply him with a return shipping label at y our expense.
buyer pays state sales tax,not you,Ebay will collect the sales tax and remit to the buyer state for you,you dont have to do anything.
As for your own tax situation,it is between you and your government, you can ask Ebay what tax document does it provide for Canadian sellers.
