Some weird and of often contradictory advice on this forum, no wonder this thread has your head spinning!

As has been said many times before, the wares you sell of of little consequence, all this 'risky good' waffle is, in the main, simply old wives gossip. Now we're into the realm of its value, it's getting stupid.

Your accounts are suspended because they are poorly created. I don't care what you or anyone else says it has almost nothing to do with the goods or their value if you are being normal and reasonable.

You even admitted on another thread that you messaged bidders and sent them images. Beyond madness. Trust me, that account didn't go down because it was a pair of used jeans and I suspect you know it.

You do say some odd things sometimes Hank

Granted you do give useful advise as we but saying that the first time you list doesn’t matter is just a bit naive. It does matter. Star with high risk branded items then you can nearly always kiss your account goodbye.

That’s not to high risk items are always the reason an account get limited, but it certainly plays a factor

They're almost certainly creating personal seller accounts, if they were creating business accounts the 'high risk' angle is dramatically lessened.

Okay, there are clearly goods which a personal accounts should give a wide berth and that's why I always offer the caveat of saying 'look normal, be reasonable'. Nobody is suggesting to list a dozen new ipads.

Did ebay decide he was a threat to the community for listing a used pair of jeans, no they didn't. Would they if his personal account listed new wares albeit poundshop tat - more likely IMO.

Now we're into the realm of suggesting it's value, even in the lower range, is a contributory factor. It ain't. It's all sheer speculation and guesswork, and as I said, is enough to have your head spinning.

You and I both know that if we had a pair of used jeans to sell we'd get them sold.

We often forget that ebay need sellers for without them there's no buyers. They do not close down every new seller because they want to ditch their pre-loved pants. Indeed, they're currently having a promotion pushing this market, maybe in response to Vinted.

OP, have you looked at Vinted.......

I honestly can’t do anything more than I already have to keep just 1 account active. I’ve used friends real name date of birth and address and was even given good selling allowances. The account was a personal account not a business account new bank account, phone number and gmail account as well.

If you also read my last post I was asking for advice on if I should message one of the bidders to let them know it was a branded item as the jeans cost £70 and didn’t feel good selling for peanuts but after receiving good responses it was recommended to not send any private messages so I followed the advice.

The item was really close to selling and then gets hits with the suspension 2 days before listing was about to end.

I used different desktop, new phone for photos, new ip and listed for 99p auction which was not advised from some members so maybe that triggered the red flag who knows.

I also waited 2 weeks to list my item up and browsed for those 14 days and watched items. I can’t see an issue for poor account creation here?

If you can see an issue in my account creation I would appreciate you letting me know?

Did you use the same camera for listing across all suspended accounts?

Did you scrub meta data from images?

Was the gmail account newly created or aged?

I would not list items for 99p on a new account.

No I use an iPhone 6s never been used on any of my eBay accounts so I had really high expectations for that account.

I will be using metadata next time as I would like to use my iPhone 12 for pictures as it’s better quality.

Gmail was created 14 days before turning account into sellers account.

The 99p 7 day auction seems like it’s a problem maybe if I listed for a £5 with £3 postage it might of been okay.

Don't overthink this, KISS (Keep it simple ...)

The new gmail account, or 99p listing, or some other part of you account creation did you in. Slow down, buy something cheap on the account. PM sent

If I was writing the algorithm for spotting dodgy new first-time-user accounts then Saver accounts would be up there. I also don't think new users would be scrubbing their metadata although I appreciate you may not have done this yet - any why would you if you're using a new image source.

Is your PC leaking incriminating data/fingerprint?

There's too many variable we are not privy to, indeed it could be your mates info that's dirty. Can you 100% guarantee they are not connected to another suspended account. Probably not.

Fighting through the good advice, gossip, guesses, inane nonsense and downright bad advice is hard work. All I can say is get everything unique, link free and appear as normal as is earthly possible. Then act reasonably, sensibly and patiently. I fear it's the last one you'll struggle with the most.

I create hundreds of eBay accounts and I’ve never had a problem with cleaning metadata or having same fingerprints with Windows Users. Even though I know eBay can see fingerprints I never had a problem.

We are just giving advice of what works for us and what we see wrong in the OP account creations and then you try to talk like we are idiots 😂

I would say that if I were creating the algorithm I would ban anything that looks like Virtual Machines. I would say that that’s more suspicious than cleaning a photo metadata.

But anyways. OP keep your same creation method and create a virtual machine like Captain Hank and don’t clean metadata and see if anything changes. 👍

A fresh user can sell a risky item without any issue. You just don’t need to overdo it like listing lots of quantities or selling too many in a short period of time. That will trigger red flags

Right. Normal people go to eBay to sell something worth some value to make profit. My first item on a fresh eBay was a $550 gaming monitor. I put it up for auction and it sold for $300. Shipped it and got payout a few days after delivery. The goal is not to overdo it and list multiple quantities of it or lots of listings.
