Well an update , im still getting banned within 20 minutes of listing and I’ve run out of ideas as to why . Only thing I can think of for now is that they somehow see me creating these accounts on the same Mac but that doesn’t even make sense .
Idk anymore tbh , they just seem to ban every single account

Seen them listed on Aliexpress and DHGate, but pretty much everything has a copy. I think it has more to do with refunding services now.

I don't think eBay checks fingerprints or all these things some are paranoid about, but algo's do flag accounts.

The smartest approach to listing on eBay is treating it like you would if you had never sold on the platform before. I doubt 90%+ people who have never created an account with eBay before open a brand new account and immediately start selling something. It's not normal behavior, and that's what algo's search for.

I have to agree, buy some things needed first, browse, message, watch, do not change any registration info in the 1st 30 days. Keep it simple and slow for 30 days

no, not at all. I mean changing phone, email, etc...

Are you telling me you change the
Stealth account to a real account info that has been banned after 30 days?

From Nov till Feb it seems a bad idea to create new accounts at all. Even old and established ones tend to die at that time without any reasons.

Still have no idea whats new that is causing rapid suspensions, and yes its a brutal time, those that have Amazon suggest you move your eggs over.

Basically staying under the radar now is extremely important. Like using xLogin software with a proper config, very good IPs, no any kind of VPNs, hosting or whatever. Selling some 1 dollar crap for 3 months until reaching 25 sales. Then selling something a bit more expensive, to reach a turnover of 250 usd in the last 3 months. And only after that selling something bigger. Even this scenario causes suspensions in the beginning, but definitely not 100%, around 50% of accounts have good chances of getting through. At least this makes you through the initial few days when most of the bans happen.

Well an update for anyone who wants to know . I’ve tried many different things such as listing first item for £2 and even doing cheap auction style listings but everything just leads to a ban within 20 minutes .

The problem is not with IP, address , phone number or anything

I’ve tried from my laptop and phone but same result

There has to be a way . Are you telling me that regular people are not able to create eBay accounts and list like us aswell ?

ddone99 01-26-2023 06:35 PM

Re: Jan ban wave ??

Been hearing this from everyone, its like they dont want new sellers. I had to shift efforts to Amazon at the moment, every single account as of newly created ends up dead. Been at this since 2000' like you said has to be a way around it

It doesn’t matter if are you are new seller, real seller , never sold on eBay , your account will get suspended.

I bought a new computer and said I'm going to create a regular account as a real person. As soon as I registered as a buyer I was suspended. I didn't understand. This is so crazy.

sounds like something is causing the suspensions...

new people registering on eBay shouldn't be getting suspended even after selling 1 item

suspension as a buyer immediately is odd - list your steps of account creation for better discussion

Yep, 100% they are.

My father made an account in his own name, own address that hes lived in for over 25 years. Never been another account under that address.

Banned on 1st listing.

Seems like they dont want new accounts at the moment.

I guess that they have some stats indicating that defect rate across new sellers is much higher, than across Top Rated ones. And handling every defect costs them a lot of money. To avoid a situation, when there is like 10x spike in defects because of new sellers trying to take advantage on Christmas sales, they are just banning everyone out and let established sellers to make them same profits, but with less defects.
So, I believe that this ban wave should end somewhere in February when eBay has resources again to control newcomers.

Sounds logical.
But now something has changed, but not all. Still need to wait till end of Feb !

There's no such thing as a ban wave, those selling accounts will probably attest to this.

It's all down to poor account creation process and/or management.

Since MP was introduced Ebay have upped their game, sellers need to as well.

Camaro2SS 01-30-2023 05:58 PM

Re: Jan ban wave ??

I don’t necessary disagree with you however every time someone claims here “it’s all down to account creation” when approached privately, they clearly don’t know jack ****. Every person I have ever questioned in private , they all seem to be knowledgeable in a group but when it comes to practice , they are just as clueless as everyone else here. So instead of talking in absolutes , maybe you should say something like “ it could be possible their account creation might be incorrect ”

I disagree , for the months before December/ January I was easily able to make new accounts without issue . But when these months came in everything changed and no matter what I tried for 2 Months it all failed.
However if this “wave “ which apparently should end soon doesn’t end soon they maybe eBay have changed , we shall see

It's not going to end, it's the new norm.

"Ban Waves" is a topic only discussed on stealth forums like this, visit any legitimate site and their own forums and it's not mentioned. Ebay do not cancel legitimate accounts, there is no such thing as a ban wave.

Given their decline in seller numbers they're not looking to simply ban new sellers, quite the opposite.

As I said above, instead of blaming ebay for wholesale blind banning of accounts, ask yourself what you're doing wrong. I can 100% guarantee that if I create an account today (UK) it will not get permanently banned. I guess it could be temporarily suspended pending further info but I'd be able to provide that but not outright banned on creation.

For those who believe ban waves do exist then decide when you think this is and don't waste valuable/legitimate info trying to create accounts during this period. Simples. :)
