Default 2023 Winter Seller Update

I stopped selling on this POS website over 1yr ago. I got busy with my other business to care about ebay.

I started again selling some stuff I have around the house this winter. I just got a 2023 Winter update this morning. Ebay is increasing fees .35% for most items. Wow F*** this website.

Final value fee changes

Starting February 15, 2023, final value fees will increase in some categories. The maximum increase any category will see is 0.35%. Some categories will remain unchanged, including Jewelry & Watches and Women’s Bags & Handbags.

We strive to maintain the lowest selling fees in the industry. And remember—when you sell on eBay, we don’t charge a separate fee for payment processing.

eBay obviously. If you look at their earnings report since about 2018 they haven't grown at all, but what they have done is learned how to suck more fees from sellers through various means. 100% factual. They have declining MAU's, but increases in fees paid by sellers.

Ebay should charge a small fee for listing, there are so many listings for the same product.

a small fee for listing an item say 5 cents, then people will think twice listing the same item under different ids and we could all make more money-not this race to the bottom game we have now

I was talking about ebay. Ebay peaked in 2018, I stopped all selling activity in 2020 and was winding down before that. Now they are slowly squeezing the current customers they have.

All platforms suck. For me, amazon is the worst.

We all need to adapt every year, heck, really every week. This constantly changing.

and now the government is going to look into its unfair practice, such as the way they treat the third party sellers.

I'm sure the government will also look into their union busting ways. Amazon is getting alot of complains about illegal union busting methods.

Eventually the government will have to do something but I dont see them doing anything anytime soon. Like starbucks, alot of the stores are unionizing but starbucks is also closing some of the store that went union. They are trying hard to not spread.

I dont see the government doing much. Bezos has powerful lobbing money hitting the pockets of government.

As long as the Biden handlers are in charge then nothing will happen, they'll simply bribe their way out of it, seems they're all easily bought nowadays.
