Default Iphone risky to list on new account?

Hi Guys.

How risky is it to list an Apple iPhone on a new ebay account? Just 1 unit on auction.

Also, would a 3 day, 5 day or 7 day listing be better risk wise? Or does the timeframe not matter?

Any opinions welcome.

Thanks

IPhones are high risk items. I would wait until it had some good feedback as was at least 30 days old.

Also, does the timeframe it is listed for make a huge difference?

SoulStorm, what kind of offer did you complete for the iPhone? How much did the offer come out to be?

I did the lovefilm offer in the UK. I see you are in the US? There are free offers in the US as well (just a free trial to complete). But any of the offers work. I think the best one in the US in INTUIT or something like that

Any cell phone is considered a high risk item

Time frame plays a large factor. 3 day auctions are highly scrutinized, I always do at least a 7 day auction.

Thanks. I guess an iphone is even more high risk. Will rather build up for a month or so and get feedback, and then list it on 7 days.

you can list a Iphone on new account no problem! I always list my old cell phones on brand new accounts. Just take a picture of the iphone tagged with your user name and your fine

Yes, you can list without problems, but you may have an issue with an iphone specifically, because it's a GSM phone. Also, it's a high dollar item stateside, any transaction with paypal that is over 250 dollars will have some issues.

If you're only selling one, don't worry.

Thanks. I dont use paypal anymore though. Had enough of their ****. LOL. I use moneybookers to accept payment, and even though it may cost me a few sales, it saves me PLENTY of headaches

And now that moneybookers payments are fully covered by ebay's buyer protection, I expect it to grow very fast as a major payment method on ebay

Default New account iphone listing

You can sell Iphones on a new account. 5 day auctions are best but 3 days work to. Just expected either the same day or next day, depending on time listing it, to get a phone call from ebay checking to see if you are a living breathing person who speaks the language of the country you are registered in. They have done this 100% of the time that I have listed Iphones on a new account. If you miss the call they will limit you for verification. When this has happened, sometimes it is just a call to them and they ask me a couple credit check information on the bogus person I created. Took me a couple times to figure out that the answer to all the credit questions on bogus person is of "none of the above". Works 100% of the time. If you get the other limitation asking for ID and Utility bill, well up to you what you want to do at that point. Photoshop or bag the account.
