Default Customer May Have Dropped Me in the Poo

Hi, I made a sale today for an item, only made £8 profit after fees.

I have alot of interest in this item, sold 10 yesterday as a wholesale order.

The customer that bought 1 today said she wanted to order more, I told her I had to put the price up, but if she orders more I will sell them for the same original price as she paid before.

I didnt mention doing the deal outside of ebay in any of my emails to her.

Anyway she sends me a messege:

Dear *******,

"I am happy to order direct, so you avoid ebay fees, I know how much they are"

how should I reply to this messege?

Shall I say I have to do the deal in ebay?

I think if they caught me its not worth risking the account.

Any thoughts

this is on ebay messaging? nobody will look on that..dont worry

you can deal outside of ebay as long as it is all done on private emails

once she has bought from you, you can deal outside ebay, there is nothing stopping you, it does nothing to your account,

you have her email from paypal , use that and do not reply through ebay

ebay may not read it, but you never know what devil is lurking in her. If the deal goes bad, she may contact ebay , and has evidence you circumvented if you do the negotiations via the ebay message system

DO NOT, I repeat DO NOT do this off eBay!!! When I was suspended I found out eBay got emails from off their system from the person who reported me...My emails were from an old yahoo account...If this person wants to get you then they can and will if you deal off eBay...

If this account means nothing then do it...If you want to keep it then DO NOT do the deal off of eBay...

You have already completed the original transaction through eBay.

Just because you have the same product listed, that does not preclude you from selling additional units outside of eBay to that customer.

As most everyone else said...handle the transaction outside of eBays message system, use private email or the phone.

Don't worry about it, I've done quite a few deals like this and had no problems. Don't get too paranoid with eBay, I know it's difficult not to though.

I think ebay does look at private messages because there system does send emails saying you were contacting by some ebay user to deal outside and there account has been comprimised in a certain way.

Either that or...

The bots on ebay look for certain keywords that deal off ebay to get people banned.

I have been offered by 1 customer to do an offsale purchase and everything went well except the item has some problems so he wanted a refund, but he wanted to do it straight via paypal the transaction and not through ebay to avoid fees and stuff for me so I accepted.

I refunded him like 2 weeks later because I didn't have the money, but he was like im stalling and he said he knows how the systems works so he though i was gonna rip him off and not give his money back, but I did give him his money back, but i just didn't have it at the moment.

The buyer did return the item after i refunded him like a week later so everything was good. You will find always good and bad customers.

I tell you customers think we can pull money out our arse like its nothing.

If you deal via eBay, you have to pay listing and %ages, etc. Selling outside eBay will not affect your standing.

No but, doing business with someone who originally communicated with you through eBay's system will get you in trouble...Better to just keep a good account and pay the fees...If that person wanted to screw you she could could forward the emails she had with you and get you screwed...

I had a situation that got me suspended where they used one of my OUTSIDE email accounts I used to communicate with the buyer that the person sent in as evidence to suspend me...

I always tell customers that ask this question something like:

"I'm sorry, it's against eBay policies to sell outside of eBay. If you would like to purchase the item(s), you will need to buy through the listing and that way you're also protected under eBay and PayPal's protection".

I don't know if eBay reads personal messages, but it's just not worth losing an account just to save some fees.
