Default Am I really limited on ebay?

I recently got limited on ebay to how much money I can male per month due to low DSRs. It says I can make up to $4500 per month, but since I only list auction style listings I'm wondering what if I have many more auctions going at the same time I reach my limit? such as lets say the moment I reach my $4500 limit I still have 20 more auctions ending seconds later, will those just be canceled or will I be penalized for going over my limit? such as freezing my paypal account? I am also limited to how many auctions I can list per month, but the number is pretty high so I am not worried about that, I just trying to figure out how they can stop me from not going over my money limit?

I'm just confused because I never really know how much my auctions will sell for since I start them all at 99 cents and because I sell all kinds of stuff that can sell for $10 or $200.

Im Not 100% sure of the Answer that I am about to Post,,But Dealing with Ebay for as Long as I Have,,I would tend to Believe that if you reach the $4500.00 mark with the end of a Particular auction, Ebay would Most Likely allow any other auction that you may have ending within the next 24 Hours, to end normally, and Anything longer than that would get pulled.

Im Not 100% sure, But I Think this what they will do,,

The way it works is that you can list up to your $4500 limit. This limit includes current active listings even though they have not sold yet and you cannot exceed the $4500 limit. So if you are currently selling 4- $1000 items and they are active auctions then you have reached $4000 of your limit and you can not list only $500.

If you cancel one auction before it ends or it ends unsold, then that $1000 will be added into your available limit which would now be $1500.

Where you can get screwed is if you sell a $1000 item and have to give a refund on it a week later or even a month later, you will never get that $1000 credit back toward your limit even if it is in the same month

Hope this helps

well i have first hand experience to say that you can even go over the allowed listing limit. they will not pull your auctions or anything. they will let them go until they have ended like normal. however once the limit is reached you cannot list anything else. you can however send second chance offers that month if you have many of the same items with bids on it. just send everyone who placed a bid and you have another possible buyer who is already interested in your item. thats what i do. my limit per month is 10 listings with all of my scond chance offers i sent out i ended this month so far with 28 sold items even tho my limit is 10. all b/c of second chance offers.

hope this helps some people make some extra money. it has me.

Steve is correct, you can go over your limit, but only if you do regular auctions. If you do fixed-priced or buy-it-now auctions then you are held to your limit even before you sell the item as I stated in my previous post. There are, of course, no second chance offers with fixed auctions since they are buy it now with one bid.

I sell electronics and have to sell them at fixed price so the limit is a hard limit.

I have about $1000 left before I go over my limit, but I have about $3000 in merchandise I can sell right now, do you think I should list my stuff auction style and just go over the limit?

YES, auctions could let you go over your limit.

hell yes list it auction style and go over your limit. the only bad thing that can happen if you chose not to list it is not making money. there is nothing bad that can happen if your items go over the limit.

do it!!!
