| From the accounts I have closed here in the UK, when I went in branch they closed it there and then using a computer.
It might still have to go through some sort of process which may take some time before it 'officially' closes 
But yes, I do not think account can receive money after you have closed it.
I would like to know a more detailed answer so I will wait back on forum members with more experience.
