Default Dormant account from 99

I found an old dormant account that I signed up for using real info. I stopped using it several years ago. It has over 100 feedback and has been used to do quite a bit of selling of under 1k items.

I have many (20-30) $1-4K items to sell. Given this age and usage, does anyone know how ebay is going to treat this particular account? I know how they usually deal with older dormant accounts that have NOT been used for selling, but I am not familiar with this particular type of scenario.

Let me know on this point, and also what pattern anyone would recommend for selling.

Its tied to a brand new PP account using real info, and I have never been personally banned from Ebay or PP or anything.

Thanks

ebay will regard this as 'new'. The old saying of a grandfathered account because of age being gold is not so valid any more.

IMHO, better to go slow as you regenerate the life of the account.

For starters, having a new paypal is going to open the account to potential paypal poop, imo. That's too new to have credibility. Consider also that ebay/paypal have changed their parameters of 'old' accounts coming to life. You may be subject to needing to prove your ID & right of ownership. Before getting upset at that thought, ebay will tell you it is to protect lucky you.
Whilst real info is an obvious plus, even users with such accounts get a raw deal from ebay/paypal. Be aware of that and have contingency plans.

I have some other accounts ready as a contingency plan, and will be selling lots of smaller items on those to start.

Do you have any idea of what the magic number is in terms of length of time selling, quantity of items sold, or dollar value of items to sell initially? I see many people advising others to "sell slow" but nobody seems to have any idea of approximately what the exact criteria seems to be. If you happen to have more concrete information that would be very helpful. I know this is difficult because of the veil of secrecy Ebay uses.

Thanks

hehe. Well I will report to the forum on any breakthrough information if I uncover any, as well as any pattern that works or doesn't work.

Perhaps it would be faster to find a T&S Ebay babe to bed. lol.

If anyone out there lurking does have such information, inside or not, that they would be willing to discuss in a PM, I would be willing to reward them handsomely $$$$.

I came into the same situation... I found an 03 account with only 8 feedback. I know to treat it like a brand new account and Im too paranoid not to!

I know you mentioned adding paypal to an old account. My 03 account would need a brand new paypal. I dont care about how much I am able to withdraw a month, it wouldnt be much that I do, but my concern is does it raise a big flag when I add a new pp to an old eb account?

I guess I'll get some documents ready just in case.

All the best with your trial and error. Remember that ALL your questions are risk-based. Keep your activity proper and act discretely and you will be fine in most respects.
