Default "Not As Described" Case, Do I have a Chance?

Customer bid for my product limited edition perfume product June 26. They were very late in paying, I had to send a Case in order for them to pay on July 23. Never heard from her. Now, 2 months later I get a case with this bogus claim (she never contacted me), "As I explained to the seller, this mist was at my neighbor's place sealed in the package. Yet when I opened it, there are little purple flakes in the mist. I will not use something with floating flakes of who knows what inside the bottle."

Details provided by the buyer:
The buyer said the item doesn't match your description
The buyer has tried contacting you
The buyer paid on Jul 23, 2011
The buyer contacted you through personal email
The buyer has not received a response
The buyer is expecting a solution from you
The buyer chose "other" as the problem with the item

It's a $24 item and very limited edition, no longer sold in stores. I don't mind taking a hit to my feedback, I haven't had a neg in 6 months so I should be fine. But if this buyer can also win this case, then I might as well send a refund.

So, do I have a chance fighting this?

Even if you win the case she can still leave negative bc thats her opinion rating the transaction. Make her send it back then issue refund when you get it.Move on

For 24.00 I would apologize and refund in full and tell her to keep it as a gift.

Not worth the hassle for 24.00.

You will make it up later with not having to deal with your account being flagged for having a case open and a possible negative.

I would be overly nice for this amount and keep them happy.

Not much of a chance - eb/pp will mandate a return for refund.

send the refund tell them to keep it and close the case. You dont want an ebay decided case against you. They are way worse that cases you closed yourself.

Things we all have to deal with. Losers are out there and we all have to deal with them.

I agree. I know how hard is to take some bs from somebody especially for 24 bucks, but the best you can do right now is let it go and ask her/him if they will not leave negative feedback please.

The best case scenario for you is to request she return it for a full refund. What will happen though, is she will eventually get her refund and keep your item. It in not worth the hassle for $24, even if this is a stealth and you can walk away from it with negative $24 balance.
