There was a massive problem. Nothing weird, retarded.

aspkin had to resolve it by losing data.

We were all affected.

What about getting an email via the INTERNET do you not understand as 'receiving the item'.

You 'GOT' the item. You received it.

Agreed it had no tracking but you got what the seller sent.

You responded to an auction that I recall some of us described as sketchy.

That seller took your money to send you an email with a voucher code, right?

You got such an email, right? In the sad warpt mind of paypal you 'GOT' the item.

Correctly the issue was said voucher was NOT as described because it was not redeemable.

A real mess

I thought that downloadable items were not not allowed on ebay, thats why they always have to send out a cd of the software after the auction so it can be tracked?

Can't you just call up your CC and have them directly reversed the payment? They usually reverse it as long as you have a valid reason.

this is a really grey area, because different outcomes all the time for digital disputes.

I agree, not received would have been best in terms of dispute, but they obviously took in to consideration that you got email (which they are not supposed to do according to their own policies).

Not as described, ok that needs proving as paypal will not do research in to whether redeemed or not, you could win by default or they say no proof and/or you cannot return it for refund.

A definitive answer would be really good for both buyers and sellers, otherwise you do not know where you stand......

If you paid via credit card, might force a chargeback then - not that I condone this.

You should be able to open case again. This time try item not as described.
