Taking payments over the phone ?

i am wounder if anybody has used a different payment syste, to take credit / debit card payment from ebay customers via phone.

can somebody supply more information on this idea , what do you need to have to take payment over the phone ?

and are customers comfortable in this idea of purchase.

and how do you receive the money?

You are talking about merchant accounts here & as such, it might be an idea that you take a look at that section on the board.
