I am selling a item on ebay that is being sold by quite a few sellers. As far as i am aware i am the cheapest on ebay.
Top rated sellers are selling for quite a big % more than i am and they are still outselling me greatly.
I have only sold 1 of these items in the last 3-4 days and i have over 10 seperate listings for the item as BUYITNOWs. I have a small number of feedbacks but the DSRs are superb.
I have done some digging and i think that for straight auctions the sell through rate is around 20% for this item. So i am unsure i could make it work via bidding auctions.
Do any of you experienced sellers have any pointers for me please?
The complete step-by-step guide to get back to selling today!
your buy it nows will never be seen until you can start playing with the top dogs.
what price range is this item?
you are going to have to do 7 day auctions and start with a low price keeping your fingers crossed that you get some bites... thats the only way you are going to get some exposure.
It does seem like bidding auctions is the only way to go.
7 day auction... start it at 0.99 , no reserve , cross fingers and let it roll. Just know you might lose your ass on it, but you'll also find out how much people are willing to pay... of course this won't really work unless the item has some traffic behind it.
Maybe its smart to sell at barely any profit and get the needed things hit to make TRS and then i can hopefully up my prices and make some better money.

if you have the cashflow and the stock this is a VERY good way to go IMH
depending on what you sell, you have to have that very thing... cashflow and stock, and you gota be able to take a loss sometimes and roll with it. Then you have to be able to work and manage like an out of control machine.
It's a $15 item and you are even slightly hesitating about listing a few at .99 cents and see where the market is??? Seriously???...if you can't afford to lose, let's say, $50, on pretty much definitive semi instant market knowledge, or are just that timid.....you are in the wrong game....that's just my opinion, but I've been on e-bay full time since '98....
