Making listings higher ranked...

OK, I just looked at a thread from beginning of 2011 for this however I am struggling to get sales on items where I am the cheapest across these items from about 16,000 listings!

I am not offering free shipping currently, however if this was to boost sales then possibly I might as this would counteract the problem with views and sales etc.

Anyone have any other top tips on what either impacts this OR could help me get to page 1 / 2?

To add to the above, I have never seemed to have had a problem before because there has only been about 500 listings on the items I sell and I always ended up top of page 1 but with more listings there must be something to make me stand tall above other sellers..... hmm

What is your current score? We all know the more items you sell the higher up you appear in best match, but not cheapest first etc. Cheapest first is... well... as it says. I used to offer "free" shipping but I took it away and lowered the overall price and added the shipping accordingly. I do think it made a difference for me anyway, in my category

The thing is I can't start to sell the items because I am so low down in the results!
