| | | arshavin | 11-12-2012 01:04 PM | Picked LP2844 Zebra printer finally: some questions I've got one long arse night ahead of me preparing envelopes for postage.
I hand write each and every envelope which does drag.
Anyone using any methods that can cut this time down much? :thumb: |
| HunterStudios | 11-12-2012 01:11 PM | Use a label printer to print them for you. It saves a LOT of time and you can automate it.
Personally, I have used Dymo and Zebra printers and have had great success with both. Those combined with a little coding/automation or even just copy/paste can go a long way to save time. |

Printer labels should become your friend.
I use this font on some of my labels to make 'em look handwritten.
Comic Sans MS is the font.named for rsot

| arshavin | 11-12-2012 05:18 PM | Looks like i'm gonna have to invest in a zeeeebra.
Can i buy any old model and it work nice? I dont wanna be buying one and it prints mega slow. |
| yotano211 | 11-12-2012 06:09 PM | wow you really need to get into the 21th century. The best model Zebra is the Zebra 2844. You can find very good "used" ones on ebay for around 70-100usd.
It uses no ink and only paper. The paper you can get it on ebay for a few cents per label. Or do what I do and buy 2000 labels at one time and I get them for 1 cent each label. But I really need to get a new printer, my is starting to jam on me. I have to shut it down and turn it on again and it works again until 5 printing jobs later it jams again. |
| arshavin | 11-12-2012 06:19 PM | Hahaha i really do need to up my game here.
I'll have a look on ebay for that model man thanks. |
Yeah Arshavin, Once you move up a label printer you can then move up to Telepathy Printing. |
| arshavin | 11-12-2012 07:01 PM | I feel like this printer is going to blow my mind and save me some major time haha |

| lisa21801 | 11-13-2012 08:25 PM | Hi, I don't know I it's in your budget, but what I do,is I use 2 pt time college gals to help me. I answer all the emails myself. I use one girl to answer the phone, and to take photos, upload to sites, and sometimes pull goods.
The other is used to package, make personal notes for high end items, make sure the labels match the PayPal printout.
But,even with extra help, I've gone bonkers at Christmas. Last year,I ended up reshipping an entire PayPal manifest,as we couldn't figure out fast enough for the next ups pickup.
Anyhow, I pay them 8 bucks an hour, 10 on weekends, they have been with me for 6 yrs now.i always have goods to ship, and goods to get checked in. |

| they_screwed_me_too | 11-14-2012 07:43 AM | i use a hp 1010 and previosly a 1020
toner cartridge are 8.00 delivered and do THOUSANDS of labels

| arshavin | 11-14-2012 08:09 AM | I've bought the printer and it will be with me for friday but i still need to order the correct labels, Anyone? |
| arshavin | 11-14-2012 08:11 AM | I've just bit the bullet and bought 100 x 100. |

The printer doesnt have the carbon labels either. I actually feel like smashing it clean up! | Buy them off eBay. Search "labels Zebra LP2844". They take 4" x 6" label rolls. |
| arshavin | 11-16-2012 07:10 AM | I bought a 4 x 6 and it will not fit into the printer!? |
| GreenBean | 11-16-2012 07:13 AM | What is the label description?
Have you read the manual for ze zeeeeeeeeeeeebbbra?
Dead easy to use
:juggle: |
| arshavin | 11-16-2012 07:15 AM | I think its because my roll has 1500 labels which is too many!?
Do you need to change the thermal ribbon often? |
| J1mgg | 11-16-2012 08:27 AM | Probably a bit late and may not be great for you.
As a small seller, 20 items per week, I use the royal mail online facility.
All you need to do is select label, enter name, post ode and number, checkout and print. This prints of the address with my return address and has also paid for the postage so you can just put it in the post box.
I usually do this at work which takes longer as I have to use the manual feed tray on a big xerox machine, but at home you could just stick 20 label sheets in a printer and select 1 and print all off.
Do you guys use the PayPal print option or do you copy and paste into app for the printer? |
| yotano211 | 11-16-2012 08:28 AM | The 4x6 inch labels usually come with 250 labels. |
| arshavin | 11-16-2012 10:27 AM | I will need thermal ribbons though?
Is there any printers where I won't need thermal ribbons? |
| GreenBean | 11-16-2012 07:19 PM | All you need is to sort the correct size labels.
Stand by

Do you need to change the thermal ribbon often? | The LP 2844 will not hold a 1500 label roll. The biggest roll that I have found that will work is a roll of 320 labels.
If you have a 1500 roll, you might be able to figure something out for feeding them through the label slot in the back of the unit.
There is NO thermal ribbon on a LP 2844, they use a thermal print head...which should last for more than 100,000 labels.
The model in the YouTube video is NOT a LP 2844. |
| arshavin | 11-16-2012 10:06 PM | I have the tlp an I paid over a hundred quid for it. I'm gonna try an send it back. |
| GreenBean | 11-16-2012 10:14 PM | Keep on handwriting until we sort this

Hard to give you the correct information, if you yourself are unsure what you have.
Should say on top and or bottom of your printer the model number you possess. | | All times are GMT -5. The time now is 04:09 AM. | |
