Lifting Seller Limits 2012

I have a stealth account that I am trying to lift selling limits on. I have 20 item / $1000 USD limit per month that I need removed. The account is verified with made up name/address info. I've lifted limits before simply by having them call a prepaid phone number I set up and entering a confirmation code. It seems that this method does not work anymore and that they are requiring more info.

This time, instead of calling a pre-paid phone number and entering a verification #, I was prompted with a question "Which of the following streets did you live on in the past?" I was given a choice of 5 street names and an alternate option that said "None of the above". I wasn't sure what to do so I chose "None of the above". On the next screen it said "could not verify seller info - please call us for assistance". I'm not sure if I'll have a chance try try again in a few days, or if I need to call to verify. I tried to call them but had a 2 hour wait so I hung up. Figured I'd ask here to see if anybody knows anything about this.

I've been asked similar questions by other companies, such as my mobile carrier, to verify my identity. Questions such as "which of the following cities have you lived in the past?" and "what is the maiden name of your mother?". I never give out my social security number so I often have to answer questions like this to verify my identity.

I was wondering - since I made up the seller's name/address info out of my ass, can the identity of this seller's account possibly be verified? I would think that none of the street names would match up, since the info is all made up. Where does eBay get this information, and does eBay have access to personal information about every single person that could possibly be using their site? That's scary.

you are correct since this is a stealth account you wont be able to answer the questions so the only way to raise the limits is to ship fast sell up to your limit every month have good customer service and ebay will start raising your limits very quickly

They begin raising your limits automatically? As long as you ship fast and have good feedback and ratings? This is news to me, but very good news. Can anybody verify this?

Do you get penalized at all if you go over your limits? I have a few items now that are auctions listed for a low price and will have a high final price which I'm sure will put me over the $1000 limit. Thanks in advance for your info.

I did search and there were lots of other threads about it but none had good info in my opinion. This is the type of thing that changes constantly so I was also hoping for an answer provided today. Even a thread that's a few months old may have outdated info.

Hi, to the poster, don't be dismayed as I've had the same problem at times.
I enter search and it does it's best to comply,but maybe the info is a year or more old.
The eBay info does change dramatically.
That's why you should keep a current copy of Aspkins stealth.
It used to be 4-5 yrs ago, he provided free updates.
As for your comment, yes, eBay is still increasing without calling.
As for the first question, I usually guess or I run that persons name on Intellus.
Most of their info/ questions come from the public knowledge database.
I've done pretty well guessing, after a search on Intellus,or better yet,
You can also try spokeo, and also pipl.com, as well as whitepages.com

I wouldn't even risk it by calling and asking for higher limits, especially if you can't answer a single question. If they want, with one click they will have you send in your license, utility bill/bank statement and maybe more to verify the account. If you wait 90 days (3 months) and you don't have any cases, problems and you ship your items fast your limits will go up.

But why not just open more accounts? Then your not risking putting everything into one account and if it goes down...well, you're done. Even if you call and raise your limits and and you are selling too much in their eyes, they'll shut you down.

Here's what I'd do...open a couple more accounts (who knows you might get lucky and get higher limits right off the bat), sell to your limits for the first 3 months, keep your account in good standing and after that, you'll have an established account that is built up. You will probably learn a few things during those 3 months too. I actually like the limits eBay puts in place...it helps me stay under their radar and keeps my greed in check.

I heard a rumor that if you make a new stealth and make the DOB make you about 18 years old and a day that you may be able to get around the questions because you should not have a consumer report in theory.

If they ask for documents, just use photoshop and be creative with it. I had a stealth account that had me answer some questions. Whatever answers they gave, I just ran a search on google and see what the most relevant answer was to the name. I was able to get them increased which was a huge plus.

yes i did that too, but sometimes you have to be lucky, there are always questions you can't find an answer, you can guess and when you guessed the right answer you really get this dopamine and adrenalin rush

So hard to pass the online quiz. Only passed 1 out of every 10. Best advice is fully research your stealth info and photograph the cars in the driveway at that address. The get a lot of questions from the DMV database now days.
