Default What does 20/1000 monthly ebay limits mean?

Does it mean I can sell 20 items, up to 1000 dollars each?

It means that you can list a maximum of 20 items as long as the combined total of all the listings stays under the the $1000 mark; if you list one $800 item for instance, you will only be able to list one more item of $200 maximum. So it's very much one of those "whichever one comes first" things.

Some sellers have allowances much higher than that, or even no limits at all. But if you were selling this car in ian auction and started from a price less than $1000 (e.g. $999), then it is allowed to go over the $1000 mark by any amount (it could go to infinity technically) but you will not be able to list any more items for that month. The dollar amount is flexible when it comes to auctions, while the item limit is always fixed.
