 eBay case: You were not found at fault, eBay decided in your favor and refunded buyer
Has anyone ever seen something like this? I had an eBay buyer open a case because he said the item wasn't as described. After many back and forth, he refused to show a photo of the problem, so I responded by saying that he would have to return the item to get a full refund. The buyer escalated the case to eBay, who responded to me with this: Quote: |
The buyer has asked Customer Support to review this case and make a final decision. We'll get back to you within 48 hours.
| And only 1 minute later: Quote: |
'eBay has decided to refund the buyer. You are not required to reimburse the buyer or eBay, and this case will not be counted in your seller performance evaluation.'

| The payment however was refunded from my PayPal account, where it says: Quote: |
Payment Status: Refunded by eBay
| And obviously, the buyer didn't return the item. What happened here? I can't imagine eBay support responding after only 1 minute and giving the buyer a full refund without even them sending it back to me.
Did the buyer find a way to cheat the system? I'm shocked.
