Ebay Refunded buyer

I sold an item on ebay. The buyer claimed it was not as described. I said send it back for a full refund.

He said no as it is working and in use.

He then raised an ebay claim and I again agreed to a full refund when the item is returned.

He then escalated it to a claim and ebay paid him and let him keep the item.

Why would they do that? I have 100% feedback and am a power seller. I am happy to refund anyone but just wanted the item back first!!

Cause ebay is run by a bunch of F'ing idiots. As long as the buyers happy then ebays happy.

Sadly because of this, it's easy to scam sellers on eBay. I wish this would change.

you have to fight fire with fire. Do unto one as they do unto you. Ebay will never change by choice! only way they would change is all the sellers stand up stop selling and refuse to pay the fees. but good luck on getting that to happen.

Did Ebay refund him because it was a question of authenticity and Ebay automatically assumes the buyer is right?

if he said it was faulty or ⊗⊗⊗⊗ to ebay they let them keep item, normally they make it be returned tho, what exactly did he say to ebay?
