We got hit with a restriction toward the beginning of our account creation. We had to fax over ID at that time. Otherwise never had to do it for increasing limits or anything else.

Thats why youre able to get limit increases over the phone without proving docs. It would be a waste for a TS to call for an increase on a non legit account and get hit with docs and then lose a good account.

eBay isnt going to keep asking for docs if you already provided them.

The seller's vetting department is actually the only department that can increase your limits over $5000. They answer the phone as "customer service" and the guy was actually really helpful.

One call raised my limits from 50/5,000 to 75/40,000. This is on a 4.5 month old TRS and PS account. The call required no verification other than confirming the name and address on the account...no documents.

All in all, calling ebay is not as big of an issue as some make it out to be - give it a try, it can't hurt.

Maybe you got Chu.

I sell auto parts (mostly lighting), about 400 items a month. Just kept maxing out my limits and they've increased steadily. So if anyone reads this and wants to try a quick limit increase just open a store..

What store did you open ? basic, premium, or anchor?

I can say that opening a store does NOT increase your limits. I did and my limits were still 50/5000 even into this month. The store isnt designed for an increase bump.

Why is it a waste? Theres a way to provide docs...you just have to know how or know where to look. I dont condone doing it but its not an impossibility.

Hi, I stumbled upon this today after being "vetted" and I just want your guys opinion.

My account has been open for 62 days. Up until about 3 weeks ago I had a limit of 100/$5,000. I called ebay and had them up this to 150/$6500 with no problems. Well I had a lot of sales this month and I was close to my limit, so I called again today.

The guy I spoke with was really nice and said he could up it again to 175/$7500. But as soon as I got off the phone I got a notification on my account saying I can't list any new items until I send in some invoices to prove my inventory of just 1 of items that I have listed. They didn't stop any of my current listings. This seems to be like a soft restriction or whatever you call it. They didn't ask for ID or SS # or anything like that which I thought was kind of a good thing.

I had some invoices made up by a friend of mine that owns a pawnshop locally in my city, because I buy these goods from china and I just thought it would look better to say I have a supplier that's local and in the USA.

Anyway, I am really nervous. I have no other way of opening new accounts or anything. What are the chances that they will lift the restriction on my account? Ebay is my sole income right now, and I am super freaked out. Does anyone have any insite or can you tell me something that might ease my mind? Should I call the vetting department to speak with them directly? Or should I just wait until they review my faxed in invoices?
