Default customers on ebay are difficult

a customer bought an item.
didnt like the way it looked (even though the pic in the description was exactly what they got), decided to not contact me first and left negative feedback.

its hard enough trying to compete with china sellers and their 1 million 100% fb with my measly weak 300 fb. worst part is i offered to give a refund, keep the item for free, just remove the neg fb and they still said no.

i reported to ebay but i know thats not gonna get me anywhere. This is probably a competitor..burn in hell

But it helps letting of some steam, doesn't it?

I also had a crazy buyer today. She told me the pants don't fit her at all, that's she's a size 16. I told her that I clearly write in the auction that the pants are a size 12. She then responded that I changed that after she had won the auction and tried to scam her. I'm like ...what the?? Even the photos show a size 12 on the tags. She then claimed that I also changed those and that she's not as stupid as I think she is. Yeah right. Obviously, she left me negative feedback. And obviously, eBay doesn't care.

Here's a rule of thumb for business.

People looking for discounts are a PITA.

Folks who spend big money, pay a premium (like Apple products) rarely complain.

How some of the buyers on eBay manage to dress themselves is a miracle, but then they use the computer to buy

There should be a law that when your thumbs stop dragging on the ground and you walk upright then you can buy on eBay.

unless these ppl are competitors in the same niche and they leave neg feedback, which is still a dirtbag move, but understandable. but if its just a divorced soccer mom who gets off on leaving neg fb to hurt sellers now thats out right pathetic..

Just have to roll with the punches....post a follow-up reply to her comment and try to explain your side in the 40 characters it gives you to write. If a buyer REALLY cares about that bad feedback then they will just move on to another seller....or maybe they will not care and buy it from you anyways.

I call them "professional buyers".

You dont know how many people who have bought from me and once you refund etc it shows back up on ebay for sale.

The best one I got lately was the person who said the item did not match her decor. What?

So now I am a rental service to see if something matches her decor?

Amazing.

I got some slack-jawed drooler say an expensive item was black and not navy blue or viceversa and I refused a refund.
maybe in hindsight I should have refunded, anyway she then did a strange thing as I think she knew she could lose a snad so she said INR even though she signed for tracking.
this case should have failed right? yup it did...so she went on to chargeback on cc for INR and got her way....another day at the office.

I don't know how Paypal helps with chargebacks, but GC will fight a chargeback for you. I had one chargeback the whole time I used GC and he said he didn't receive it. I had proof he did - he signed for the package, had his name and address on the signature page. I won.

Issue there is that half the staff at ebay/paypal would need to be sacked for failing the standard.

Amen on that Roscoe, the cheaper the item is in the category, the bigger the PITA the buyers are. Most of my complaints are from just such bidders, they whine and complain - blah blah feature doesn't work, I have them return it and 95% of the time it works fine, they just didn't know how to configure or use it.

I have noticed my lower priced listings have more problems than my higher priced listings too. Something I sell for $4.95 and barely make anything will have a buyer all over me wanting to hold their hand, while a $14.95 sale of the same item has them praising me for being such a great guy.

On a case like the OP mentioned, very frustrating, I hate it and want to flame the f**cker but end up just biting my tongue and moving along.

Had a guy buy two keyless entry remotes from me. Said one worked and one didnt...immediately offered to refund him and he agreed. He left positive afterwards. Wasnt worth it in my eyes over a 7 dollar item....just moved along and then blocked him.

I was just on the other side of this. Big-boy Seller on ebay sent me one of those new-fangled LED type lightbulbs turned out to be made in China (surprise). Anyway open the box and the bulb literally falls apart in my hand.

I wrote them and they gave me the corporate spin about apply for an RMA, we dont refund your shipping, and if the box is opened we might deduct a repackaging fee at our option, yada, yada...

I said wtf. I was tempted to just open a SNAD case but took pity and just left them negative FB with 1s and 2s across the board.

I dont know about you but I find I usually get much better service from the small-timer on ebay than the online arm of these large B&M shops.

Ditto. The small guys I buy from have great prices and great customer service. You are just a number to the big guys and they could care less. I have many repeat customers because of my customer service, even if my prices aren't always the cheapest.

I assume they are all idiots. Which is why I show lots of pics, easy, simply perfect describing and i have no issues. Most sellers run into issues when they are lazy. People bitch over everything.

Buyers don't read, buyers don't look...they see a price and get happy with the bid button.
