Default eBay calculated shipping

I have been offering free shipping since I got 7 low Dsr ratings from un honest buyers.

Any way I would like to use calculated shipping now as free shipping I'm always losing money and can't do it any more..

Will buyers leave low dsr again with calculated? As there seeing the real shipping price and I'm not making it up.. Could I appeal if I get a low Dsr with calculated shipping? Who uses it?

Un honest buyers just because they dinged your shipping methods.

You selected the method in the first place.

Once you got 1 or 2 low DSRs for shipping, you should have changed your style.

If you are in Canada I would build it into my price for Canadians for free ship.

Then tack on the shipping for those outside even if part of the price is built into price with free ship.

I agree even in the US, i have had times I have charged less than actual shipping and got dinged because people don't understand the true cost.

I don't know your circumstances but usually people who get 1's and 2's for shipping are charging 2x + the actual cost.

Even if the materials cost something most buyers just see the price, or look at it in that sense.

7 low DSR for shipping? This account is probably going to be toast any day now. I would start preparing for the inevitable - but thats just me.

1) Worst is "dishonest" - not "un honest" ugh.

2) Do calculated shipping then but you may lose business.

3) You cant really appeal - free shipping is automatic 5 star dsr

Your other option is flat rate. Have you looked into that?

Flat rate is you ship for a set price. It's good since you have more control over the outcome. With calculated shipping you are leaving it up to the robot to figure out.

I use all 3 methods - each is useful in certain situations. I only do free domestically.

Ok.. Ill do free to Canada and calculated shipping to the rest of the world.. So buyers don't think I'm cheating with the shipping. They see how much it costs with Calculated.

Bear in mind, right now the following.

You are the seller.

YOU make the choices.

No blame comes back to us for your choices.

Thanks.

Hockey12, your questions are all about business model - I think you need to find yourself a personal mentor. You dont seem to be understanding wise advice being given.

And saying buyers are "stupid buyers", your sense of customer service is low...you have a lot of research to do.

All the best. Maybe eB is not best for you without solid guidance.

Maybe eBay isn't right for me. Because why should a business be forced to offer free shipping to avoid limitations or held funds or below standard?? I believe shipping should paid the amount it costs. eBay makes no sense to penalize sellers for shipping and handling charges. The bidders bid. They agree to the charges. Enough said.

Hockey let me ask you a few questions,
Don't have to answer or give specific details...

1. Your Product, how much do u pay for your product?
2. What is your actual Profits when you offer free shipping?

I sell photos signed. I buy in bulks. Lets say I buy a photo for $20. Sell it for 100..since I put tracking anything over $50 it's costs me.. With free shipping. If the buyer lives in Florida lets say tracking will be around $15.. That's profit lost for me that I could of charged him to cover it.. I had enough with free shipping. Also you have to include the fees and Paypal..

Less most of the time.. Like around 20-30 I make each time. Could be way more if I don't offer free shipping. I'll offer free t Canada but I can't to USA and the rest to expensive for me to take out of my pocket when the buyer should pay.
