Default Mail being stolen

Been waiting for some packages (15) from a well known company that I always order from with no problems till now.

They never showed been 3 weeks and tracking shows the change over to reg usps and that is it.

Items were stolen..

It's funny because someone in Kansas stole one of my customers contents. I have NEVER had any issue with small flat rate boxes...the label was cut off in a perfect square with a box knife and sent back to me with a letter saying the box was empty and they couldn't find any contents. When I alerted the buyer, he said he was waiting on two watches a couple of weeks before that just all of a sudden went missing....can you guess where? Same dispatch facility in Kansas that my package was last scanned at before updating with "sent to dead mail center".....hmmmm, REALLY???

I used to get a pickup at my home and when the post office worker changed I started getting some missing scans etc.

Then it became more and more.

Called and called.

We will look into this.

No return calls of course.

So I stopped the pickup and all of a sudden we have a new postal worker.

Shame you cannot ship a darn package without someone along with way stealing it from you.

I am kinda surprised this happens any more what with surveillance cameras all over the place. Sides, a fulltime postal job is not something I think anyone would want to throw away these days considering how hard it would be to find something comparable. But there is always the occasional moron out there.

Which begs the question if you put anything on the box or label that describes the contents?

Not usually wise to jump to conclusions. Need more info like:

1)Was the item shipped from overseas?
2) Possibly subject to be seized?
3) What does the last tracking statement say (I'm sure it does not say stolen by USPS employee)?

Usually with USPS when the item is lost, you first want to call your local Consumer Affairs Post Office and then the Mail Recovery Center.

Most items are ran through a scanner at some point.

Something happen just file a report on www.usps.com and they will respond it.

Last week I expect two package send by Priority mail. I know that they will be delivery on Friday cause I check it everyday. After work go check my mail. They are not there, not at front door but system said delivered.

Don't know what to do, buyer wait for those item too. So I went to www.usps.com and file the report for lost package.

Next morning the local postal employee call me at 9AM (by the time they are open) and ask me question about the package and said they working on it. By noon I go check my mail again and there are the two packages.

Just don't know how they retrieved the packages but I got them :-)

Next Monday got a call from USPS customer services center follow up with the problem and couple emails about it.

This is the only time that I feel USPS doing a good job ever.

I used to have pick ups as well, but it seems that they hate picking up packages from people... I used to have 10-30 packages picked up daily by USPS, but as Sandy said my packages kept getting lost and lost, even one day I found two packages in my driveway, another time a package a neighbor found it on the curve and brought it back to me... That's when I had enough and I drop off my packages now. It's a pain since it seems to me that they don't want to work, when I show up with that many packages I always get an attitude from every single employee.

That's why I love FedEX they pick up from you, scan in front of you with a smile on their face!

But then again can't beat USPS prices

Same situation; I have one mail lady who is on her game. She picks stuff up and haven't had a problem to date. But sometimes I agree it feels better to drop packages off at the PO Office if you ship a dozen valuables at a time. If you are having problems receiving items via USPS. I might advise a Post Office Box. Sometimes larger packages you have to pick up in person from the post office. Usually smaller packages depending on the size you have they have lockers and leave a key in your box that you can open it with. You might have to check yelp or something to find out the best one. But if you are worried about packages getting stolen or missing from USPS i suggest getting a post office box. Most the people with a gig in the mail room at the post office don't want to be fired. They have the gravy job.
